Audio Alchemy is a funny thing...sometimes a stock cord can do it....other times, not so much! I like Transparent, MIT and Audioquest PC's depending on the application.

The 400xi is a better integrated all around...the 300 was a bit murky sounding and flabby in the bass.

I got a Teac AI2000 to replace my ARC VSi60...the Teac sounds more like a tube amp then the ARC...WHAT? Full bodied, refined and articulate with tube like dynamics and harmonic completeness...all for the price of an NAD.

The absolute best bang for the buck is the B&W 683's...for $1500 a pair and spec's reflective of it's more expensive brother, the 804....yeah, give them a listen!

Nothing can beat Transparent, especially in the bass department!

Clean sounding but no where near the natural tone and foundation possible with transparent, not to mention low level detail retrieval:) 
Cables more hype than value?
If you put Transparent interconnects and speaker cables into your system and you can not hear a huge improvement over a conventional cable, then you are DEAF!

"Lean Sound"? What the heck did you hook their linestages up to and with Larryi? They are big, warm side of neutral and dynamic...never lean.
