Pro-Ject turntables Well, thank you very much Kiko65, I appreciate your words here. All of those units sound good to me. I'm willing to bet it's just a matter of strengths and weaknesses, and considering what I'm looking for sound wise. Happy listening to you too...
Pro-Ject turntables Ohnofiasco: Sounds good. Thanks for the explanation. Much appreciated.Kiko65: Thanks for the recommendations. I will take those into consideration. Which arm(s) would you recommend for those?
Accuphase a-70 is a good option? Exactly...or look into a P-6100, imo.
Accuphase a-70 is a good option? One A-70 is *probably* enough...you just would have to try and see...
Technics SL1200MK2 Cartridge Discussion Cool, that sounds great. I have been replacing mine once every year, but I suppose this has been overkill...thanks for the info!
Accuphase a-70 is a good option? Thanks, Nvp. Ok, I understand that. However, if he can afford it, why not? :)That sounds good. Interesting story. Those amps were run bridged or dual mono? I don't doubt the A-70 would sound better. Now what's your take on the P-6100? I think that ...
Pro-Ject turntables Ok, cool. What did you like about it, per se.
Vinyl ratings for audiophiles Love discogs. They're pretty accurate overall, and it's kinda cool reading all of that stuff in the dead wax I could care less about years ago. It certainly is a treat to find that nice clean original (especially a promo copy! nice!) and then play...
Accuphase a-70 is a good option? Dynaudios are a bit difficult to drive...they need an amp that can do a 4 Ohm load. The Accuphase can do this, no problem. But maybe 2 in bridged mode might be better? Or a P-6100?
Accuphase Power Amps Hi Simon,Ok, cool, XLO has been around a while. From what I've seen and heard, it's a great cable. Did you happen to try the Accuphase cables that came with the preamp? Most recently I've been looking at Neotech...I'm not 100 percent sure if it's ...
Technics SL1200MK2 Cartridge Discussion Glad you agree Johnnyb53. It's really a good cartridge, and at the street price, (i buy via turntableneedles.com for new styli at $189.00 a pop.) it's a no brainer. It does take a while before the stylus to wear down. This is a well built unit, an...
B&W 800D vs. 800Diamond on Accuphase amp Thanks for that Nvp. :D I can't imagine with those huge filter caps and transformer that the A-70 wouldn't be able to drive the B&Ws all the way to practically blowing your ears out.
Accuphase Power Amps Hi Nvp,I know this is Audiogon, but I'd really rather buy new. However, if I go in person and inspect the unit (i would prefer a demo) then that might be alright. Thanks for the suggestion(s)
Accuphase Power Amps Hi Simon,Congrats on the P4200 amp! I bet it sounds incredible, actually I know it does. If what I heard at CES 2014 was any indication, you're in for many, many hours of fine listening sessions. What cables are you using?
Pro-Ject turntables Cool, and I forgot about Basis and SME...they're pretty big players, so there's more to add in the pot! lol. |
