Vandersteen 1Ci, Tekton Lore Reference, or Fritzspeaks Grove for a small room
Paying for a review could be a bad thing if there was extra incentive for the review to be positive. It could also be the designer was having trouble finding a willing reviewer. I own the basic Lore and to me it's a very good speaker, but it sound...

I'm shocked that no one chimed in defense of Tekton. Based on everything else I've read online the Tekton Lore should have destroyed the Vandies.
Musical Paradise mp 301 mk 3 amp
Thanks for the review. I just bought my first tube amp, the appj miniwatt 2013 (the one with a the tube guy playing a horn). I was looking to replacd the appj with the mp301 but wasn't sure if this would be a worthwhile upgrade. I like that you've...

"Still no one w/ M-Lore's?I know Eric is busy building them, the two reviews out there have driven orders, but so few user comments..." I'm looking to replace my PSB Stratus Mini's with a small efficient floorstander and am also greatly interested...

Is leveling powder heavier than kitty litter? I filled up my stands about 1/3 with 18,000 steel bb's in each stand, and then used kitty litter for the rest. This still doesnt seem heavy enough for me and was thinking of switching out the litter f...

Does anyone know if its ok to fill stands with BB's, or will they rattle. I checked out leadshot at my local gun store and they wanted $50.00 for a 25lb bag, which is pretty expensive. Copper BB's from walmart would cost much less and the weight i...

Lewhite, your idea of beaming the speakers upwards to avoid side reflections is very interesting and would like to know more about how this is done. My stereo is in a very small bedroom, and im certain that side wall reflections are a factor. Do ...

So since the PSB's are designed to beam the sound upwards, then I could probabaly get away with 18"-22" stands and not use any kind of tilt but also get the benefits of having the drivers closer to the floor. I had a few more questions regarding ...

re: Genjamon It's funny you mention the M-lore as I was also considering these for my needs since they are smaller and cheaper than the Lore. They also use a soft dome tweeter which I ususally like more than metal domes. The only problem is no one...

How do the lores sound with something like old Metallica? I listen in a small bedroom, so really deep bass and super loud volumes are not required. I'm more concerned about ooverloading the room with too much treble, or with an upper midrange tha...
Small Floorstander That Uses Ribbon Tweeters?
re:Okeeteekid I actually used to own the original Ascend CBM-170 back in 2003 and have thought about trying the updated SE model since my equipment is much better than it used to be. The towers look amazing, but again they use too many drivers for...
Small Floorstander That Uses Ribbon Tweeters?
Thanks everyone for the suggestions, this will give me some models to investigate. I especially like the looks of the Salk Song Tower, but am not sure how it will sound in my small room with rock/pop music. Some of the other models mentioned loook...
NSMT Speakers?
Thanks guys! It looks like they might be decent speakers, based the feedback from previous models. Since posting this iv'e also been looking really closely at the Direct Acoustics Silent Speaker II which is also another unknown company.

Removing plastic phase plug from tweeters?
quote from site-"• Remove your speaker's cloth or foam grill. Snip off any plastic phase ring in front of the tweeter. You'll hear as much as a 100% improvement in treble."
