I'm getting a fantastic deal on them.  I was able to find out they are the series 2.Sound quality characteristics and perspective are incredibly personal.  That is why opinions vary so wildly.  To answer your question, I've heard all the Paradigms...

Not dumb, but yes, they are in place.  I've also tried bi-wiring.

Just flipped the interconnects, no changed. As mentioned, noise exists even when interconnects are disconnected from receiver's preamp outs.

I just tried an adapter without a grounding plug on it. The hum/buzz was much less noticeable. With it, there was no noise coming from the mids and tweets, only from the woofers. There is still a low level hum, but much better. This was done with ...

I have the amp connected to the receiver via the preamp outputs. But the buzz/hum still exists/doesn't change whatsoever when I disconnect the amp from the receiver. 
Speaker Cable Advice Needed
Thanks for all the responses. I have to say I'm relieved to find out there are others out there that don't buy into the $1K or higher cable hype. When I have a total of $1700 in the speakers and amp, that just seems crazy. I'm just trying to squee...
