Re: streaming recommendations for newbie
@elliottbnewcombjr Access, convenience terrific, but sound was not good. Eva, Ella, Sarah, Annie, Fontella, Barbra and Donna, .... none of the women’s voices sounded ’right’. I’ve experienced the same thing. Female voices sound almost mecha...
Am I right for this forum?
@tomic601   I'm just a guy with a hobby.  On the MC System post there is a photo of the group at the meet up,  I'm the good looking one. In real life?  Do you mean in a metaphysical, philosophical or 3d dimensional sense?  You can check my po...
Am I right for this forum?
I hate to say it but you probably don't belong here.  For the first thing your stereo setup was WAY TO NEAT  Where are the jumble of wires the size of fire hoses strewn all over the house?  Where are the special power plugs "required" to provide p...
Noob question about streaming . . .
I believe with HEOS you are able to access the Amazon Music Service.  I found it provided a better quality than Spotify with pretty much the same access to about any music you should choose to listen too.  I never had a HEOS so I could be mistaken...

Importance of a DAC's elements
From my perspective streamers are simply purpose built computers that provide a digital signal to your dac.  That can be as simple a single board computer like the Raspberry PI to some of the ultra expensive highly modified computers that go as fa...
Wool Blankets as Room treatment
I use mine as cover for the flat screen.  Damping the reflective surface changes the presentation.
Excellent interview with Mark Levinson
He does sell a software player "Master Class" for the Mac that processes digital files???
Preamp - what's the purpose?

You don't lack bass, you have too much treble
@curiousjim  If you bypass the denifrips and use the BS dac does it have the same issue?
You don't lack bass, you have too much treble
@curiousjim  A 10db to 15db jump in that frequency range is pretty drastic.   What are you using as a source?

Being of advanced experience...   (I'm old OK)  a flat response being produced doesn't mean I'm experiencing a "balanced"  presentation.  Since I'm adjusting my listening experience to what sounds good to me a flat response as a baseline is where ...
How does a preamp die from sitting unused for a few months?
Probably died from loneliness.
