Are Pass Labs amps probably the best ever you can buy ?
Pass labs would mate best with 93+dB sensitive speakers, imo. Unless you get one of the 100w class a ones but I think those are well above $15k mark!
This Schitt is totally refreshing in the world of high end audio!
They could really shake up the market later next year with their propriety USB implementation. I think they were purposely trying to be lowkey about it but if it's as as good as they let on in the video it could potentially blow in up in a big and...
Warmer sounding Solid State
pass labsnothing is rolled off, tube like sounding midrange and very rich, textured, detailed bass. tube sound with transistor based reliability. very good control on pretty much any type of woofer and frequency response.
Does anyone care to ask an amplifier designer a technical question? My door is open.
Is it harder to design a amp or preamp?
Anyone Using Harbeths with Grilles off?
With the 30.2 there is boosted bass if you remove the grille. Though I highly reccomend removing the grilles on the 30.2, if only to remove the magnet behind the logo that rattles against the cabinet enclosure very loudly during strong bass.
Kinki Studio EX-M1
I posted this in my own thread but thought maybe you guys who haven’t seen might appreciate it. Apparently the recording I did using my phone mic is of good quality?https://youtu.be/1dEsSmn0hhgIts my JBL 4367 paired with the Kinki.
$10k Speaker Cables??????????????
What kind of person decides to get into the cable maker market? Talentless engineer who couldn’t make it doing tube amps? Marketing guru? Cult leader? Psychopaths? All of the above and worse?
Paradigm Persona series
Let clarify, because I now own speakers that are bigger than the 30.2: a traditional loudspeaker design bigger than the 30.2 wouldn’t work for me. The Jbl 4367 is far from a “traditional” design with its large woofer and unique horn
Paradigm Persona series
@ctsooner  I agree with what you said about Harbeth. I don’t know what Alan Shaw’s deal is (warped ears perhaps) but the Harbeths scale with gear and most especially the room. I owned the 30.2 for a few months it was by far the best speaker I ever...
full-scale orchestral music—best test of speakers’ potential?

Running Benchmark AHB2 in bridged mode and 4 Ohm Speaker
didnt thx design the amplification and power stage of this amp
I admit it, I get skin orgasms.
You can just say it! Music is like sex to the ears.
Horns: Why don't they image well?
@voodoofunYes, thank you for the constant, daily reminder of your studio loft, connections to important people and access to recording studios. Thank you for letting every corner of the internet know of your advantages in life and in this hobby.
Horns: Why don't they image well?
Also like you mr. d, i did not get my horns because I wanted that pinpoint imaging, that just turned out to be a big bonus for me. I got them for their impressive off the charts dynamic capabilities, high sensitivity and ease of use to mate with t...
