Audio Research Factory Tour
German automobile companies will reimburse your trip to Germany, your stay in the hotel, company tour if you purchase one of their cars. A full disappearance of manual transmissions from the USA market on all BMW models even M-series made me kinda...
I've got the Feeva.. and the prescription ain't more cowbell!
Parenthesis on second paragraph are inconsistent.

Bad NOS tubes...
Sometimes you swap a tube and the new tube is okay. so the tube you removed must be bad, right? NO! Sometimes the scraping action of removing and reinstalling a tube in that socket is enough to temporarily restore contact - and fool you into thi...
An Amplifier Change for my Wilson Sophia 2's?
I've known lots about price categories, but quit worrying about that long time ago.Sunfire sig 600 was the amp able to make WS speakers literally disappear and bring REAL stage. If you compare depreciation of 7bst vs. sig 600(both were actually ma...
subwoofer crossover- lowest is best almost always?
The key is TONAL BALANCE.Your system is bi-amplified by default using an active sub so the sub volume and crossover point should be set for maximum tonal balance meaning when you can pleasantly listen at widest volume range possible.
An Amplifier Change for my Wilson Sophia 2's?
Well, Al,If you and few other poster were speaking about where 100W per channel can bring Wilson Sophia, it’s not truly the case and I’ll explain why. That ARC VT100 would be able to supply to my guesstimate only a third or a quarter of specified p...
An Amplifier Change for my Wilson Sophia 2's?
Once Bob Carver created best amp: Sunfire Sig 600. It’s load invariant and can be used as welding machine as well(hey if needed). It drives ANY speaker of ANY size super clean. How about 1.2kW into 4 Ohms would sound like? I heard these speakers wi...

Are audiophiles still out of their minds?
geoffkait3,589 posts06-15-2016 5:26pmAct-too-ally both 5 and 3 are real numbers in Czarivey’s example. The expression 3i is, however, an imaginary number. Thus the square of the imaginary number 3i is -9. As Al I totally agree! Please be also not...
Bad NOS tubes...
well i mostly deal with solid states, not tubes and once i've ordered a set of NOS transistors via ebay. they came to me with clear signs of being mounted onto the heatsink(dry traces of heat sink compound!) so it looks like NOS isn't really NOS b...
Bad NOS tubes...
The NOS may have 125 hours of use. Is there any sort of odometer in vintage NOS tubes?
Are audiophiles still out of their minds?
whart930 posts06-15-2016 3:16pmDon’t take the "percentages" as literal, folks. I don’t, and perhaps I didn’t make that clear enough in my earlier post. In algebra of complex numbers, each number can be represented with real and imaginary part sim...
Is my room going to suck
wolf_garcia2,515 posts06-15-2016 2:11pmLong interconnects are a really bad idea unless they're balanced cables used with appropriately balanced amp and preamp ins and outs. I think 3 feet is a safe run for single ended cables, 200 feet for balan...
Music Lovers Speaker vs. Audiophile Speaker
ebm3,298 posts06-15-2016 1:26pmIn many cases you can make a Audiophile speaker into a music lovers speaker with the great preamp, amp and cables. It's far more simpler. Bring into room with audiophile speakers music lover and voila, the audiophi...
