Bryston "Regular" vs "Pro" Mr "Pro" would use adjustable gain to maximize synergy to preamp and speakers. I used Bryston 3b-st and 3b-st pro, but not at the same time so can't tell, but adjustable gain of "Pro" I really liked to play with.
Phono/preamp/amp chain. One of them tube the others SS. Which one? Tube high gain devices are noisy by nature so phonostage is great either solid state or hybrid such as AudioResearch PH3 or similar.I join anyone who likes tube preamps. To my tastes and demands of higher volumes tube amp must be BIG, but when out...

***Advice Needed***Choosing Between Mini & Midi Monitors Pro JBL 44xx or 43xx series have very high efficiency. I tried those with Scott Stereomaster 222 tube amp and they could scream LOUD.
Does a sub need to be on the floor? james63356 posts08-15-2016 1:59pmAdding subs is the best thing you can do for your system. Yep I get nourished with Firehouse 12" premium roast beef sometimes when listening to tunes.
Bi-amping Rules russbutton66 posts07-29-2016 8:45pmWhen you bi-amp, you become a speaker designer, like it or not. Can you share a number of your 'supply' dealer so I can try it too?
Do we really need anything more than 8" woofer and 1" tweeter for medium size room? Maybe I don't anything over 8", but extremely happy with my 10" paper cone woofers, 5.5" Kevlar midrange and 1" aluminium dome tweeter of Aerial 10T speakers.Obviously no need of any subwoofer. They go low-enough.
