TRELJA in New York, 2002 While I hate the notion of a $175,000 system, I have to say that the Lamm, Utopia, DCS system was as good as it gets. Not spectacular sound, but just beautiful, natural sweet music with the most musical bass I have ever heard. I left this room depr...

Who does make excellent EQUALIZERS??? I am using the Accuphase DG-28 equalizer. It works in the digital domain - no signal degradation.Control is 1/6 octave. Can be adjusted manually, or using their algorhythms. You can measure your room reponse with a supplied microphone. It puts out a ...
Speaker recommendations for 2,500 or less? TclipseThe Proac 1.5 is a great speaker - beautiful mids and hi's,but I never felt it had the bottom to rock.
What's Up Wth Ultimate Audio Magazine ? I've been wondering the same thing. The last issue I received was Winter 2001 - with Talon Khorus on cover. I've tried to find out what was up from them but no response.
Spectral DMA 150 compares to Rowland Model 6 and 8 MattBoth the standard DMA-150, and DMA-180 require a Spectral preamp. Spectral also requires the use of MIT interconnects, and speaker cables to keep the warrantee in effect. It does limit your options, but as stated above, the synergy is incredibl...
best dealer to buy a avalon speaker I have to second Overture Audio. Terry Menacker, the owneris extremely knowledgeable, and is as nice, and helpful a guy as you will ever meet in this business.
Spectral DMA 150 compares to Rowland Model 6 and 8 TimI completely agree. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go for the spectral front end (too $$$). I opted for the Accuphase DP-75V-which works well within this system.Carl
Spectral DMA 150 compares to Rowland Model 6 and 8 Vtin-I have a spectral DMA 180/DMC 20 connnected to Avalon Opus with all Spectral/MIT Cables. This system was jointly designed to work together. In my experience, the Rowland amps tend to be much warmer than the Spectral, which has a much cleaner,...
Speakers for small room, near field I had a pair of Proac 1.5's in a 10x10 room.Fantastic imaging, in nearfield listening. Also, a very smoothe natural sound.New they are $3000, used around $1800.Good Luck

Room correction in high-end system??? Hey MetaphysicsThe thing about a vinyl front end is that you have to run it through the units A to D, and that leaves you at the mercy of the quality of their A to D. It also seems sacreligious to convert a beautiful analog signal from a turntable...
Room correction in high-end system??? Hi MetaphysicsI have a high end system - Spectral, Accuphase, and Avalonand I have added a DSP - the Accuphase DG-28.In answer to your first concern - I don't have a vinyl front end, but I don't think you want to convert an analog signal into digi...
