Wilson audio 3.2 speaker
I think you need the carmac to RCA (call or email Levinson) to get the right impedence. You said the XLR to RCA is too soft.
Wilson audio 3.2 speaker
If you mean Audible Illusions Model 2 preamp then you need to flip the + and - speaker ends on the Speaker Side (not the amp side) as it inverts polarity. This would cause a lean or sucking out of the vocals/mids. Also the input impedence on the X...
Placette, VS First Sound VS Audio Synthesis Passio
Not based on the Placette Design, I have the Active Placette and it is outstanding. The remote powersupply turns off after it makes any adjustments you request so it doesn't interfer with anything else. The Placette Design only puts 2 resistors in...
Sonic Frontiers SFT1 vs Sony DVP 7000es
I use to own a Sonic Frontiers SFT1 and it is one of the lowest jitter output transports on the market and the SFT1 is better than the later iris. It even plays CDR's! It will be a definite step up from the Sony.

Yup ... In Dallas- Krystal Stero - Excellent dealer, I've been to about 8 Wilson Dealers Nationally (I travel a lot) and this was the setup that made the decision that Wilsons weren't too analyitcal for me and revealed their true potential. The de...

Well put Rathbone.... Mag's like as many watts as you can through at them, and the only time I had problems was with low powered or amps without any 4ohm guts (B&K) and those blew fuses but never tweeters.Time to upgrade the amp... The amp sug...
Best Cabling for Wilson Sophia's
You didn't make a mistake moving from MG 3.6 to Wilson's as they are one of the few box speakers that are as fast and precise as the magnepans (i've owned three sets of Magnepans and upgraded to Wilson Watt/Puppy 7's), and now you get the capabili...
Subwoofer Question
If you have carpet the spikes should be used. If you have tile/or hardwood the rubber should be used (unless you want to put down a disc protector). The goal of the feet are to keep the sub from moving.

Best speaker match for Levinson system
I've never heard Levinson sound good on Wilson as the tonal balance is lean/dry in my opinion. I own Wilson Watt Puppy 7's. Also I have found that the Transparent has better synergy than Norst products with Wilson speakers.Isn't Revel a sister com...
Audio Connection Question
1) Digital Coax (more bandwidth)2) Digital Optical prevents ground loop humms from your cable system but has limited bandwidth3)RCA's can't pass DTS/Dolby Digital, and your receiver is probably better at decoding than your DVD player (cheap DAC(s))
