Review: Wilson Audio Puppy 6 Speaker
As a prior magnepan owner and now a wilson owner I can do a better comparison. The earlier Watt Puppy 5.1's were a bright speaker that required careful component matching (no Krell need apply), the WP6 were leaps and bounds better than the 5.1.I w...
Aurios 1.2 under Velodyne F1800X Sub ?
It was a significant upgrade! Calling a Velodyne 18" weak before the floating would be hard to say but after hearing it floated on my tile floor, the tightness of the hits are amazing. I also had good luck with Sistrum SP4 stand under the sub, but...
Which would you choose?
Magnepa 1.6's is also another one should consider. The bass driver and the electrostati panels on the sequels do not match up very well and that should be more like 10+ years old (they made those in 1989 when I bought my Magnepan IIIa's)
Wilson Sophia or Watt Puppy 5.1
Drrdiamond: I just mentioned the comment about the 5.1 reconing (not sure whether they are foam which typically rot with age or rubber which doesn't) because I've seen a lot of them forsale with upgraded drivers.. I assumed but we all know what th...
Wilson Sophia or Watt Puppy 5.1
get the Sophia's it won't have the hot tweeter setup of the 5.1's. Bass response will probably be the same since the 5.1's were not full range, and the mid-bass improvement will be stunning on the Sophia's. Plus you could end up reconing the 5.1's...
Aurios 1.2 under Velodyne F1800X Sub ?
Just a follow up, I tried the 1.2's briefly (an improvement) and then upgraded to the Aurio Pro's which tighened (almost deepened the bass), especially with the 25lbs of #7 lead shot sitting on top. I had to turn the sub down to 2 it hits so hard ...
Question on connecting JC-1 to Speakers
the "Perfectionist" agon system runs his JC-1's bi-wired. Unless their is a crossover in the bottom that provides a benifit from jumpering up, I would recommend running two runs from the amps to the speakers, this will provide the best electrical.
A question about Real Traps
You must have the HF versions of the traps, which absorb, talk into the trap and see if it aborbs and then go talk into another one of your traps.. the non-hf are reflective and you will hear it bounce back into the room. Also you might have dampe...
Wilson Alexandria X-2 with ML N33???
As a Wilson Owner I would talk to your wilson dealer or better yet call Dave Wilson before he comes out (doesn't he setup the X-2's personally if I remember correctly). That's a ton of power for such an effienct speaker. What color did you order th...
Are in-wall speakers worth considering?
I had my audio system in the living room and my video system in the den and the children would run into the living room with my audio system. As you can see(my attached system) it is not a safe place for children to play around (cut/burn themselve...
More on the VR4seIII
Drhst20: based on the "liquid so thick" quote I will have to agree LAMM M1.1, M1.2, as a Lamm owner I can attest because I'm willing to listen to a Class A amp in Phoenix during the summer!VTL450/750There is not a cheap high current option here to...
Are in-wall speakers worth considering?
Classical1: well put, I'm single also, and I moved my Wilson Watt Puppies 7' out of my main room and into my master bedroom and went with inwall's because you can't control other parents undisciplined kids! My friend's 6 yr old son kept banging on...
Are in-wall speakers worth considering?
Even three Niles across the front will sound good, and of course they will never replace a high quality 2 channel system but they some of the best inwalls I have heard and still image better than most stereo demos in shops I have visited. For surr...
Are in-wall speakers worth considering?
Yes I replaced my 5.1 full range system with inwalls Check out the High end Niles 8700 and 8500 nice three ways that actually have bass! And they aren't etched at all in the top. If you check out my systems you will see that I put my velodyne 18" ...
15" vs 18" subwoofer - which to buy?
Just so you Know I run a Velodyne F1800X behind my couch in a HT setup and now I don't need bass shakers in the couch because it moves the couch plus it doesn't have to be quite as loud, you must crossover at 80hz or below becuase it is in the bac...
