Best subwoofer for Linn AV system In your setup I'd use the HGS-15. It's not that I play so loud but my listening area is huge. No integration problem at all. I crossed over all the Linn's at 80 hz. When the 5140's don't have to do the deep bass they are much more dynamic. Trust y...
Best subwoofer for Linn AV system I too have the 5140's and 5120's. I tried the Linn sub. It just would'nt play loud enough. I ended up with a Velodyne HGS-18. It out performed two Linn subs at a fraction of the cost.
Subwoofers pro or home? On the above babb should be bass. It's to early for my fingers I guess.
Subwoofers pro or home? The down side is no deep bass. That unit goes down to about 50 hertz. Punchy babb is in the 50-80 hz catagory. It's certainly not something I would use in a home system. The Pro arena is about playing loud, not deep or accurate.
What does everyone think of shahinian? Richard is neither an audiophile or a tweak, by that I mean he knows what he's doing. His speakers are for music lovers, not for insecure idiots who are swayed by what other idiots think or say. You said they sounded good, what more do you want. R...
Limits of Sub Woofers Most movie tracks cut off around 30 hertz. My Velodyne HGS-18 is flat to 15 hertz and quite a bit of output down to 8 hertz. This is in a fairly large room, corner loaded.
Velodyne F1500 Sub. How good is it One F-1500 will be far more accurate than two VMPS. One sub correctly placed is fine for music. No sub is more accurate for music than a Velodyne Servo.
Budget phono stage- advice appreciated I think the NAD is outstanding. It holds up to some of the best. The design is excellent. Curt
THE best subwoofer for 60/40 HT/2CH? The Muse would be a downgrade. NHT's are not serious sub's. No such thing as fast bass, 40 hertz is 40 hertz. That is the speed. If you want accuracy, you already have it,if not go with your ears. Every ear is unique.
Best Subwoofer? Velodyne HGS-15 or 18. No boom , no bloom, just accurate bass.
Am I deaf? Use your ears! To much bullshit in high-end audio.
Best subwoofer under $1000,- If you want the best, try either the Velodyne CT-150 or the discontinued VA-1250. Both are available for $700-$800 range. Performance is about the same. It takes a large to do movies right, so don't settle for some small pretender. |
