FedEx - strange shipping progress (to UK) The best for international delivery is DHL. I ordered a streamer from South Korea. From the time it was picked up in SK, to the time it was on my doorstep in the middle of the states was 37 hours! I was blown away!
Re: streaming recommendations for newbie @tlh28 I have a Bluesound Node N130 and for around $500 you can get a darn good streamer an okay DAC. As time and money permitted, I bought a better power supply and it made a big difference in the sound. As time and money permit, you might want...
dedicated power receptacles for mono blocks? @61falcon If you can swing it, they recommend getting two twenty amp circuits. One got your amps and the second one for everything else. I just have only one, but it’s working fine for me.
If you have a nice system why do you really need room treatments? @emergingsoul Your equipment does its best to reproduce your sources and that was all it was designed to do. unless your room is a sphere, lower frequencies are going to reflect out of the corners of your room at different speeds and it can ma...
Whats playing on your system today? Listening to Jane Weaver, Love In Constant Spectacle. Interesting listen. Not great, but worth a listen.
Jazz for aficionados Listening to Hiromi, Alive. I really like most of her albums. There’s a lot of energy in her music!
Am I right for this forum? @snilf Being on Agon is more than talking about equipment. I generally spend more time on the music threads than the equipment threads. Jazz, classic rock and classical music are 99% of what I listen to. Poke around, there’s a lot of diversity....
Is positive reinforcement why things are sounding better? When I bought my first tube preamp, a ARC SP-3a in 79(?) I bought maybe six different sets of tubes for it. Each had its own sound and I settled on the a Amperex 12ax7. Now I have an SP 9-MK ll that uses 6dj8’s and I basically did the same thing ...
The Absolute Sound posts a video about a new product development from Magnepan, but... @yyzsantabarbara Good luck with the upgrade and please let me know your thoughts afterwards. BTW, would you also tell me your thoughts on the KEF KC62? I’ve read/heard a bunch of reviews from “Professional” reviewers, but never from someone wh...
The Absolute Sound posts a video about a new product development from Magnepan, but... @bdp24 I’d sure like to hear their top two models. I have always loved the sound of panels. I still have a pair of Acoustat Model X’s. I’ve tried probably a dozen times to make a subwoofer to go with them, buy never tried an open baffle design....
The Absolute Sound posts a video about a new product development from Magnepan, but... @yyzsantabarbara I saw a review a while ago on one of the smaller models, maybe the smallest model and they loved the sound, but the bass was lacking. (Imagine that) they can produce the sound, but without any umph and they suggested a small sub...
FAKE NEWS - NEGATIVE REVIEWS NOT ALLOWED!! The funny thing, is it wasn’t a negative review at all! Eric A. has been causing sh t all over YouTube and all he seems to be doing is shooting himself in the foot.
Jazz for aficionados @daledeee1 Listening to Nashville 1, I’m not sure if I’d call it jazz, but I’m really digging it! If they come to my part of the states, I’ll definitely check them out!
Jazz for aficionados @coltrane1 I’m with you. I listen to older MD only. I listened to or tried to listen to all of his stuff, but I doubt I will be listening to anything past 1970 ever again. Not my cup of tea. |
