We should reject hard-to-drive speakers more often
Since I got the Hegel H390, I haven’t found a speaker it can’t drive, but I really can’t speak for the thousands of speakers I haven’t tried yet.
How do you find time to enjoy your $$$ speakers and system?
Music is playing about six hours a day here and I probably sit in my spot ninety to one hundred twenty minutes of that. And that’s four to five days a week.

Jazz for aficionados
The Rippingtons,  Life in The Tropics and Topaz.
Whats playing on your system today?
The Allman Brothers,  Idlewild South.  Still a good listen.

Yves Tumor,  PraiseThe Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume. It’s actually pretty good.

Trading my DQ-10’s for a pair of Acoustat Model X’s.  I also was able to sell my Hafler DH-220’s!  Still have the Model X’s, but I don’t listen to was much as I should.
Is a FLAT response the IDEAL?
No, you have to have some life in your room! Think of a symphony hall. Think of how it sounds. It’s far from flat.

Finally you get to rest in peace.
Paul McGowan gets asked about rotary subs.
@bdp24, Thanks for the tip. When I get a chance, I’ll give Danny a ring. Years ago, I built my second to last sub with two Dayton 8” drivers. I got very close,  but I could never get all the way.

The Grateful Dead,  American Beauty.  Still one of my favorites.
Considering moving to separates with a tube preamp-appreciate recommendations
Out of curiosity, what don’t you like about the H390? And what did you have before the H390?
My Impossible hum issue.
I doubt it’s the power cord.  On something as sensitive as your phono cable, I’d take a volt/ohm meter check it out. Who knows, maybe it was just a loose or dirty connection. All the best.
