I rolled JJ’s, EH’s, Mullards and I finally found some NOS Amperex with the gold pins from the mid 60’s and I have never been happier. Of the others, only the less expensive EH’s sounded bad. The more expensive ones were better, but kinda sterile ...

What is the science behind audiophile fuses?
65 plus responses and nobody really tried to answer @reimarc ’s questions.  Not only can I not answer, but unless you improve the .10 cent fuse holder and the wires running to it, what’s the point?

@kota1  I won’t buy grab bag.  I went though probably 900 of the 1100 before I gave them the money. Either way check your local library. All the best.

Does anyone here like Sun Ra?  He’s put out a ton of albums, but I really can’t listen to any of them. Is it just me?

@jrcotner  As others have said, tubes are consumable.  So there’s that and also different tubes have different sounds.  After five years,  I’d replace at least the output tubes and if you liked the tubes five years ago, then buy more of the same....
