Audioquest Firebird Zero No issues in length with the AQ cables. I own both 1 and 2 meter lengths and already tried the 1 and 2 on my Niagara 1000 and there was zero difference in sound. AQ will tell you the same thing about length. I guess size doesn't matter to them. ...
Initial impressions of my new Vandersteen Quatro's in Audi Havana Black Bob, I LOVE what I have as you know. Heck, if you show me a very current clean bill of health, you can come up when Sam does to listen, lol. He has my server/DAC right now for upgrades and the new cases are close at hand. :)
Looking for input: Best material for mid range cone Paper absorbs humidity and it changes sound accordingly. If coated that changes it all. That said, Youtube Vandersteen showing his carbon fiber cones vs a WELL KNOWN paper cone that's used in speakers from 15k to over 100k. It shows the paper co...
New Speaker Conundrum - Vandy's, Spendors, Salk, Ascend - Mainstream or ID awesome stuff. So glad you are all loving your music.
Amplifier for Harbeth 40.2 You can go less expensive on the amps, but NOT the preamp. They do have more detail than many give them credit for and therefore need a top preamp.
Audioquest Firebird Zero Actually many of us do understand burn in just like you do Bo. It deals with the grain size and boundaries along with a few other details. As for the interconnects, don't expect as big a difference in sound as the cords and speaker cables. Gart...
Audioquest Firebird Zero Sorry, been off the board a bit this week. It's a grounding device. Call Rutan about how it works etc.... He's one of a couple of dealers in the US for it. There were a few of us in the store and he was able to plug it in and pull it out durin...
New Speaker Conundrum - Vandy's, Spendors, Salk, Ascend - Mainstream or ID HEy guys, thanks. Life is great. lol...;). I get to listen to awesome audio and that's all that matters. I was thinking about what tech goes into my Quatro's. I have heard a few speakers in the under 40k range recently and was left lacking. Br...
Audioquest Firebird Zero We have similar cords/cables, lol. I have heard the Dragon and nearly went that route when I purchased my cords. I was buying three and one had to be a 2m so there wasn't anyway I was going that route, lol. I still need to cords for my Vanderst...
Audioquest Firebird Zero Thyname, you may very well be right, but I was told by someone at AQ that it was Garth heading the team that's re designing their interconnects. Either way, they are updating the line and Garth has really transformed AQ in a positive way. Even f...
Audioquest Firebird Zero I was doing a lot of work behind my system a few months ago and having MS, I can't do the heavy lifting etc, so I had a friend hook up my Laufer Technique Server/DAC with my new AQ Hurricane cord. I was in shock at how great the change was. I alr...
Amplifier for Harbeth 40.2 I heard them at Suncoast Audio with the top of the like MSB Select electronics/DAC and it was beautiful. I was amazed at what they could do. The love a lot of power as long as your amp is a good match for them. I've found Harbeth's to be very f...
Active or passive? I'm on the other side of the no speaker does bass well argument. I own Vandersteen Quatro's as I've said. Vandersteen is the only manufacture I know of who integrates the sub amp the way he does. The amp takes on the same sound characteristics ...
Active or passive? 01-19-2020 2:30amIve done this demo (passive vs active) many times. Active properly executed will outperform passive. The reasons are many: 1) losses through all those copper coils in the passive crossover 2) losses of power, dampening factor, ...
Amplifier for Harbeth 40.2 I've heard them with Rossi amps and they sounded great. I enjoy them a lot. I still like Vandy's better, but would easily live with Harbeth's and a glass of wine and be very happy. |
