Vandersteen 5A to Carbons?? Who's the dealer?
Vandersteen 5A to Carbons?? I don't own either (I have Treo's), but I am very familiar with both. The big differences you should hear are in the openness as well as the smoothness of the sound. It's just much more refined with better staging and imaging. To me if you are abl...
Ayre MX-R Twenty upgrade As great as the MX and KX were, the Twenty's take it to a new level. That's what's amazing about this upgrade. It's not subtle by any means.
Vandersteen Seven Review Great thoughts on the whole line. Thanks for sharing. I"m hoping that soon he will upgrade all the line with more carbon as he sure has it down at this point. The Quatro is the sweet spot in the line for those of us who can't afford the 5 CT;s or ...
Ayre MX-R Twenty upgrade Lenny, I totally agree. I wouldn't trade my AX5 Twenty's for the old ref gear you just upgraded. The Twenty series is as good as any amplification I've heard and for those asking, I've heard a ton of the higher priced gear. The reason is that it j...
Vandersteen Seven Review Probalby my fault on the way the thread has gone. Sorry...Funny, but I have never heard bad things about Vandy's from folks who hear them set up properly at a store or in their homes. I can't say that about Wilson, Thiels (especially the new ones,...
Absolute top tier DAC for standard res Redbook CD Matt, just sent you a message.
Vandersteen Seven Review Jeff, I have been swamped with a project (I'm building a set of dining room chairs) and hope to be done within the next few weeks. Then I can get down to John's.
Preamp phono suggestions Try listening to the Ayre pre amps. Audio Research and Aesthetix are all strong choices. I'd also listen to the last two for phono stages as they are killer for the price. JMHO
Vandersteen Seven Review I agree on the Vandersteen Treo's on up. Very few compared to how many are sold show up used. I think cult is a strong word for audio folks who are loyal to a brand. I have actually had that discussion with a few non audiophiles along with audioph...
Vandersteen Seven Review I've never let a connection type prevent me from a purchase. Interesting to see. Vandersteen feels that a screw connection is by far the best physical connection you can get. I had MIT 770 MH for my Proac's, but when I recently switched to Vandy T...
Vandersteen Seven Review There are a couple of dealers who frequent the boards who don't get as much positive pub as Johnny gets. He doesn't ask any of us for this either as any of us will attest to. That's a sign that you are doing things correctly I think..
Suggested Phono Preamp A used Heed Quasar is a killer. It goes under the radar in the US, however just ask any Heed dealer what is their best phono near the 1k mark and they will most probably be selling Heeds over some of the more known names. It's a killer phono stage...
Vandersteen Seven Review Johnny sets up the Vandy's as well as anyone can. He just gets it. The guy really is a servant, lol. I'm being serious here too. He really does get it and he cares. Hard to find that.
vandersteen Quatro or sonus faber elipsa I use the Treo's and are moving up to the Quatro as soon as I can sell my Treo's. Misnomer, Vandersteen are best for rock. Can't be further from the truth actually. It's design allows it to not smear transients and that means 'clean' sound. Yes, i... |
