Mockery of Audiophiles
I kind of remember that routine. Wasn't his moonrock needle mounted on a tonearm made of "unobtainium"?
Led Zep '71 BBC sessions - balance tweaking?
Awdeeofyle, I sure would appreciate a second opinion. By the way, I was mistaken. It is actually an Atlantic release.Cornfedboy, I'm in the same boat, most of the time. It's just that with this recording in particular, I just had to tweak. Happy N...
CJ Trinity Sessions, Rumor or Real Deal?
Ramstl, I'm going to guess the mic's used were Neumann's, maybe the KM56, M49, KM53, or most likely the M50. These mikes were all tried for the "Decca Tree" recording technique, developed by Arthur Haddy and Kenneth Wilkinson.
It seems that I wrote a psychodelic poem
Nice prose! Agreed. You must read Carl Jung. His theory of "synchronicity" still blows me away.
CJ Trinity Sessions, Rumor or Real Deal?
So what's the story with "Whites Off Earth Now"? It was supposed to have been recorded with the same single mike/2 track digital recorder technique, only in a studio instead of a church. I was listening to this album just last night and noticed ho...
Where R U?????
Greetings from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I live 4 miles from the base of Jackson Hole Ski Resort (aka Teton Village), the best extreme terrain in America. My closest audiophile friends are in Boise, Idaho, 6.5 hours away. I'm guessing there are other...
After Soul Coughing -- Who?

Shipping: A lesson learned
Making the trip can yield extra benefits. I live in a remote area of Wyoming, where there are only a few audiophiles (one fantastic hi-fi shop though). I drove 500 miles roundtrip for my Mirage MRM-1's and met another junkie in the process. I demo...
Best speakers for a small room? 10'X14'
I have a 9'x13' room and have had excellent results with the Mirage MRM-1 Reference Monitor. Might be a little more than your budget, used.

What is the name of your system.
I too use "the rig"; however, this is also how I refer to my manhood.
Bridge or bi-amp? Which should I do?
Unless you are sure that the wattage, impedence, etc. is identical between the two, I'd suggest bi-amping (assuming your 602's are biwirable). Even if their spec's do match, I'd still be hesitant to bride them and run them as monoblocks. I'm guess...
Sim I-5 vs. Plinius Integrateds. Which one?
If you are happy with the sonics of your Moon I-5, why not use it as a pre and pick up a W-5 amp? A used one with a decent used interconnect should be within your budget. Happy listening. Erik
I don't remember much, but I remember......
My first record was a 45 of Patsy Cline - "I Fall to Pieces". It was 1977. I was 8 and played it on my first stereo, a Garrard suitcase type portable record player with two detachable swing-out speakers. My first full LP was the soundtrack to "2001...
The Little Tube Amp That Could?
You might consider a Sonic Frontiers SFS-40. It can be tubed with el34, kt88, kt90, 6550 outputs, as well as several input and driver stage tube options. Wattage would vary form 40-55 wpc depending on tube complement. If you are interested in tube...
