Hi all,I'll be moving to Boca next year and i'm trying to find an audio club within a 45-minute drive.  it looks like the club discussed at the beginning of this thread is no longer around.  Please reach out to me if you know of a club or are inte...

Experiences on Tom Evans phono stage ?
I had the Groove for 3 years. It is a superb phonostage. It is extremely tranparent and has an immediacy that very few other phonostages can match (try to have the impedance set pretty low - nowhere near 10k. I had mine set around 300). I ultimate...
Steelhead as a preamp?
Rloggie,I did not find running the Steelhead into the amps to "soften" things. If anything I found the leading edge, transients and microdynamics much more defined - i.e., it was much more transparent. Having said that, it is less bloomy (as I sai...

Steelhead as a preamp?
I had the Steelhead running directly into a pair of Tenor 300 amps. I much preferred the direct run. Much more transparency. Don't agree that it sounds less dynamic. I think it sounds less hyped. Much easier to hear the micro-dynamics. One other t...
Steam cleaning records 2
I use the Disck Doctor brushes to apply the cleaning fluids, but use a carbon fiber brush to apply the 2 rinses. My thoughts are that the carbon fiber brushes retain less junk and get down deeper into the grooves. What do people think? - Any other...
GEM Dandy Record Cleaner - Has Anyone Tried It ?
I bought it based on the review and thought the idea of using water pressuer made alot of sense. Unfortunately, my kitchen sink doesn't handle the attachement. Nonetheless, I tried the fluid along with using the Perfection steamer on my Loricraft ...
Grand Prix Audio Monaco Turntable
Downunder,I'm afraid I diagree with your interpretation of the Hi Fi Plus review. You should re-read it. Mr. Gregory clearly did not think the table sounded lean. In a number of places he praises the table for its weight, harmonic development and ...
How to clean Stubborn Records
Can one of you guys let me know what you use to steam clean. Also, how do you avoid warping the album?
Grand Prix Monaco review in new Stereophile- OUCH
After reading Mr. Fremer's views on the Grand Prix stand, I thought I should share my view on the stands. I have owned the GPA stands for about 3 years now. Prior to that I have had a number of the top-line stands, including the top Finite Element...
Grand Prix Monaco review in new Stereophile- OUCH
For the record, I was the guy that visited with Mr. Fremer and that owns the Monaco. First, let me say that he is an extremely nice guy and was kind enough to allow me to listen to albums at his place for an afternoon. Thanks again Mike. Now, let ...

The SDS works on either 110 or 220 I took mine to the UK. I spoke to Harry Weiss himself on this. You just need to get an adaptor for the plug. enjoy
