Can I put receiver and CD player on top of my sub? Chad...okay, your guilt trip worked...you are right that my response was not "helpful" and that I should just stick to answering the question. I apologize to Eighthcircuit...But my initial impression was that this question sounded like a tongue-in...
Can I put receiver and CD player on top of my sub? you are joking, right?
Linn Sondek LP-12 happy/un-happy owners Obviously there is no "consensus." But to add to the fray, if you have not already done so, you should read one man's opinion of the LP-12 at:http://www.high-endaudio.com/RC-Tables.html I am a VPI owner myself, and don't have an opinion one way or...
How many audiophiles to screw in a light bulb? I'm glad this thread came up because I'm looking for a new bulb cleaning machine and can't decide between the Nitty Gritty bulbocleaner or the VPI bulbolator. Has anyone compared the two? Thanks.
What is your latest "rediscovery"? New Riders of the Purple Sage -- "NRPS" -- a little too much on the bass in the mix, but with Jerry Garcia on the pedal steel, it was a refreshing re-discovery to pull this from the LP rack and listen to it again.
Eagles Concert Guitar Player ...with Don Henley running the show, I don't think anyone in the band is allowed to improvise.
Eagles Concert Guitar Player Rja:Yeah, Don Felder did a classical guitar intro to Hotel California during the Hell Freezes Over tour. It was pretty incredible. During the 2003 tour I saw sans Felder, that intro was replaced with a brass intro (if I recall correctly)...it wasn...
Eagles Concert Guitar Player I saw the Eagles in August 2003 at the White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, Washington. Don Felder was conspicuously absent, and they did not have a replacement guitarist for him.....Walsh and Frey did all the guitar work. All I can say is that as ...
Why are audiophiles perceived as being wackos? Maybe because most words that end with "...phile" typically describe "wackos" of some sort. ;-)
Is Preamp overkill for me? I second Rsbeck's suggestion of looking at Placette. If you are interested in purchasing new, Placette offers an in-system trial, so you can try it in your system, and if you don't like it, return it.Or you can get the basic RVC (since you only ha...
What's the funniest song you ever heard? Hey Jayboard: I like "O'Reilly at the Bar" by DH.....(I'm gonna smash your face)
What's the funniest song you ever heard? Hey Islandear -- I'm not sure if the Fugs did "Ballin in the Bathroom" first. Could be....the Fugs and David Peel (along with Zappa) were all loosely categorized together in the late 60s as rebel rockers. But I remember distinctly the David Peel al...
What's the funniest song you ever heard? David Peel and the Lower East Side: "Ballin' in the Bathroom" (although I think on the album cover it was spelled "Bawlin'", but we knew what it meant)
VPI Scoutmaster questions......... I upgraded from a Scout to Scoutmaster (and I also have the SDS). The difference is NOT SUBTLE. The Scoutmaster is noticeably better, as Slipknot noted. I found the bass is much tighter, the details much cleaner, and most importantly, the enjoymen...
How Long Did it Take to Burn In a new piece? My Wadia 861 with GNSC's Statement modifications took about 500-600 hours to start sounding consistently good (after the mods). Kept improving through about 1200 hours, then seemed to settle in and now just gives me outstanding tunes. |
