Which: VPI HW19 Jr. or III vs. REGA P3 and P25
I would recommend the P25 over the VPI, simply because it just sounds more musical, especially in the area of PRaT.
CEC TL-0 and Bel Canto DAC
I've heard the CEC TL0 with the entry level Audio Note DAC and it sounded fabulous. Lots of detail from the TL0.
3K to 4K Phono Pre-Amp
I'd go for the Herron VTSP-1mc. The musical involvement, sense of scale, dynamics, and flexibility with cart matching is excellent. I'm currently using it with the Dyna Te Kaitora with excellent results at 47k ohm. I've also heard it with the Koet...
Best Cartridge for VPI Aries orig + JMW 10.5 ?
Banjofan,With a good phono stage, the differences between these carts are just personal preferences and are not marked differences.Having said that, you can tune the cart to match your system's balance using VTA, tracking force, azimuth and anti-s...
Best Cartridge for VPI Aries orig + JMW 10.5 ?
BanjofanThe two carts you are deciding on have different sonic characteristics. Depending on your preferences, warm balanced or detail retrieval, your choice would be a lot easier.
Has anyone heard the Shunyata Cables?
If you want to hear more of your system, but less of the cables, I'd go for JPS Superconductor 2. If that's too rigid, then settle for the FX. I too wanted to have some of the Cardas sound and the alternative way to do that is to use the Golden po...

Genetic differences in turntable design.
Twl, interesting points raised.I took the alternative route of having a suspended table, but supported by granite and non-resonant feet and I also have great dynamics. The plinth of the Kuzma has a resonant freq of 3.5hz and the springs are damped...

newbie turntable/speed control question
The Kuzma Stabi and Stabi Ref allow easy switching of speeds.
How good is the Koetsu Urushi cart?
I personally like the Urushi very much. Its my dream cartridge upgrade. It has all the detail retrieval of the best, plus the special mids of the Koetsu range. Its also very dynamic, which adds to the sense of realism.
What to put under my Aries turntable ?
I have my table sited on a granite slab which basically is very rigid. In addition, I have found that putting DH Squares under the turntable feet dampens it further and makes the playback more musical.http://cgim.audiogon.com/i/vs/i/f/1052207936.jpg
newbie turntable/speed control question
I think what he means is: Is there an option to vary the speed on the table after selecting 33/45rpm?I'm using the Kuzma Stabi and there is an option to fine tune the speed up/down in the power supply. The power supply has some dip switches allowi...
MC Cartridge upgrade from Grado reference?
Koetsu, the "Pleasant Light" literally, is the best at conveying the emotion in the music. The mids are very special.
Full range box floorstanding recommend $3-5K range
Take a look at the Vandersteen 3A Signatures. They'll throw a soundstage which extends beyond the spks(and room with your excellent front end). You'll be hard pressed to find something more neutral.
