reubent I have 2 vintage Infinity Speakers that use EMITs - Infinity Qb and RS1.5. I do not find the EMITs "steely" in either implementation. I don't find EMITs to be even remotely "steely." They are revealing, however, and can sound strident ...

I'm still using my McIntosh MR-80 and it still sounds terrific, given a clean signal.
