Baffled and Frustrated: Streaming/DAC Sound Issues
@audphile1  I still take the view that the problem is caused by breaking up the analogue signal into billions of tiny fragments that cannot be correctly reassembled.  This is the origin of dither and clock error.  It would seem no-one can solve t...
SET Distortion at higher volumes?
@dhcod  Very pleased to hear your issue is solved. But I am very intrigued by tonearm originated distortion that presents at high volume but not at low volume.  Can you elaborate please?
Baffled and Frustrated: Streaming/DAC Sound Issues
@tony1954  Well, Tony after this thread has been up 3 days, it would appear no-one else understands these systems either.  Indeed others are saying they have the same kind of issues. Hence my sage and practical advice.  Clear thinking.  If not f...
Baffled and Frustrated: Streaming/DAC Sound Issues
@jerryg123  Sorry.  What is 'douchey'.  Is this a shower for a Frenchman? What I was saying is that all the digital problems are caused by smashing the analogue music into billions of tiny pieces and then worrying why you can't put them back tog...

Sorry @tylermunns  I meant to add a +1 for you.
Those singers you enjoy,....that don't really have a great voice?
@gdnrbob  @tylermunns  Roy Orbison?? You gotta be joking.  Not just (by far) the best voice in the Wilburys, Orbison had one of the greatest male singing voices ever heard in rock, a pure soaring tenor.  Plus so sad he passed early, but that...
Audio gear, sonic quality when you listen in less (or non-) focused ways
@hilde45  Listening while driving is an interesting case.  I have done many long drives with a pile of CDs to listen to.  If I am concentrating on the music my driving goes into totally automatic unconscious mode, as it can do in other circumstan...
Subwoofer boom is too much for me...
@audioguy85    Yeah.  But many cannot fit in or afford the necessarily huge and expensive speakers that do bass properly.  And there is still a cross-over to the bass driver(s).
Audio gear, sonic quality when you listen in less (or non-) focused ways
