Cart / Phono preamp for Technics SL-5200 Well, it's done. I bought the Rotel. The tt, cart, and preamp for an even $200. Hope the Grado doesn't hum, but if not I think I could have done worse for the money.
Cart / Phono preamp for Technics SL-5200 Just bought a Grado Red for $65. That leaves $135. Now considering the Rotel 970BX. btw, noticed the original Music Hall phono pack looks exactly like a Tonar (off-brand???) pre - not so much like the Pro-jects I've seen. My source for the MH ph1....
Cart / Phono preamp for Technics SL-5200 Thanks everyone. I was hoping to successfully cheap out with the AT95e, but I'll spring for the 120. Can anyone vouch that it soundly beats the Ortofon I had previously?About the CA - I'm just not a huge fan of their products in general. I'm not r...
Just Starting..Budgeting up to 1K for next upgrade get a rega mira and enjoy the good built-in phono pre. there was one for sale on here last I checked. you'll be hard pressed to do better for the $650 or so they run used.
B+W DM603 S2 I had 603 s3's. I will warn you to avoid tube amps with these, but the Jolida 1701 with the tubed preamp section would give you goosebumps with them. Also had good luck with a Cambridge Audio integrated, but the Jolida hybrid was magic.
Floorstander suggestions to replace Usher S-520s.. Rega R3's are hard to beat for the money. Love mine. They're in your price range.
good sounding low price speaker w/ front bass port Try Rega R1's (I have R3's that I love - extremely open, full, and natural). They are front ported and the Decco should drive them no problem. I like and own the Ushers but they would not be as easy to drive.
Wharfedale diamond 9.2 comments wanted where'd you get yours for 200 bucks?
Wharfedale diamond 9.2 comments wanted I had a pair. Very nice, not fatiguing. I ran them off a Rega Brio 2000 with great effect. They didn't best the only pair of Dynaudio bookshelve's I've ever heard, but held their own with the B&W 603's I had. Great value for the money.
Advice on best small speaker for under $400 used New Wharfedale 9.2 are in your range, sound very nice, look great, and have a lot of bass. I used mine with an old Brio amp and it was plenty.
Crunch time: headphones $150.... Grado 125, no question.
Review: NAD T585 CD Player Thanks for the great review. I'm thinking about one of these to match with a c315BEE integrated (one-remote laziness system). Are there any downsides to this player and how have you found it to be with HDCD?
Tweaking my new Rega P1: How much is too much? Save the glass platter and cartridge and get a new Rega P2 to put 'em on. Much more tweakable than the P1 with the aftermarket stuff and still quite a bit cheaper than the P3. If you love it and tweak it with a subplatter, counterweight, etc., you...
Small room, "budget priced" speaker advice, please Hang on until you find a used pair of Rega R3's for 500 or so. After umpteen pairs of others, these aren't going anywhere!
mo' better bass: any substitute for watts? Thanks to all for the responses to this point. Would love to hear any other opinions. Consensus seems to be that more watts will help my situation.I have considered a digital amp (Trends)as Shiva suggested, not sure if it would deliver the goods o... |
