Nice blog.
Review and Guidance into playing with power cord, strips, receptacles, and conditioners.
Thanks for sharing. I am currently plugged entirely into the wall. I was thinking of trying a PST-8D at some point as that seems like the cheapest conditioner with a couple isolated areas.
Any improvement of using 2K$ Dac with Cambridge CXN
@audiotroy Clearly consumers, including audiophiles, are beginning to prefer all-in-one systems over separates. Although customers prefer streaming DACs, would you say that streaming DACs are more likely to be sonically superior to a separate stre...
Any improvement of using 2K$ Dac with Cambridge CXN
@wallpoom, it sounds like part of your desire to upgrade DACs includes the desire to experience high-res content. If you’re willing to wait until the end of this year, Amazon will begin streaming CD and high-res content through its service, Amazon...

When choosing a new router/mesh system, your primary considerations will be (1) how many users your network will support, (2) what kind of speeds you want, and (3) how many sq ft your mesh system will cover. If you're looking for something simple ...

You could take this opportunity to upgrade your network to a mesh system. If you did, you could use one of the mesh routers to run ethernet to your streamer. If you have a decent router that doesn't need replacing, you could set an older router in...
Amazon Ulimited HiFi - Q4 2019
If Amazon gets into high res streaming, I see Tidal's days being numbered. It could also mean the end to MQA if Amazon adopts a different standard.
Tidal vs Hi Res Files vs CD vs “Netflix”. My test. Incredible!
@plga:Chromecast Audio vs. MSI LaptopI ran a small test of my own this weekend to try to compare an MSI laptop against the Chromecast audio. My setup is KEF Q150s, on Monoprice Monolith stands, crossed over well with a sub, all powered by the Peac...
Tidal vs Hi Res Files vs CD vs “Netflix”. My test. Incredible!
@plga, can you educate me on what the I2S connection does? From some poking around, I’ve read that the I2S connection separates the information from the clock. This way, the DAC can use the clock of the streamer rather than its own. Is my understa...
Tidal vs Hi Res Files vs CD vs “Netflix”. My test. Incredible!
@plga, it appears that the contributors here identified all the possible variables. Source files make a difference; software processing makes a difference; cables make a difference; a complex chain of interconnects can make a difference; DACs ofte...

The HDMI out to the DAC may be an issue. To rule that out, you could run toslink or coax out from the PC and/or from the Gustard.I use a Chromecast Audio into my Peachtree Decco65, with both plugged directly into the wall. It’s super simple, and s...

Sub to complement KEF LS50s: SVS vs. Rythmik
Great thread! I’m new to this hobby, and this is my first audiogon post. I just connected a sub to my KEF Q150s this week. It was a game changer. But I find myself saying "game changer" every time I add a new component. I keep thinking I’ll hit th...
