Best Louis Armstrong LP to Start With? If you start with just one, I would second Rushton's recommendation of the Satchmo Plays King Oliver LP. Both the musicianship and the recording quality are stunning.
Showdown: Your Favorite Cart for Classical? I think that many of us are saying essentially the same things but using different words. I agree with the common theme here, which is that large scale classical music is perhaps the most difficult style of music for an audio system to convincingl...
Showdown: Your Favorite Cart for Classical? Of the cartridges I have experienced, the Dynavector XV-1s is my current favorite. It does a great job with all sorts of acoustic music, both large scale and small scale.
TVC Promethius versus Bent Mingles, Nick is now including a grounding lug on the rear of each chassis to allow the transformers to be grounded. It sounds like the same wiring scheme that you described for the Sonic Euphoria. Nonetheless, I have never encountered the hum pro...
TVC Promethius versus Bent Mrtennis, can you clarify which Promitheus TVC it was that you compared to the Bent TVC? Was it one of the budget (i.e., under $1k) TVC models that is built around EI-core Rev. 3 transformers? Or was it one of the newer Reference C-Core or Signatu...
Moving from Carpet to Hardwood floors...need help Here's another vote for the Sound Anchor Cone Coasters. In addition to the convenience factor that Geared4me mentioned, you will also find that they will tighten up the bass response of your system to the extent you are running full range speakers...

Have You Tried the Super Platter Stickman, I upgraded the platter on my VPI TNT-6 during January, and I do believe the heavier "Super Platter" offers a worthwhile improvement in the sound of the VPI turntables. You will get more bass weight and authority out of the turntable with...
The VPI Rim Drive I ordered the rim drive kit from Music Direct during January and finally took delivery of the kit on Monday of this week. I installed the new drive mechanism in my VPI TNT-6 turntable on Monday evening, and I have done some fairly extensive listen...
Excellent sounding cartridges for Rega P3/24? My brother is running the Benz Micro medium output Glider with the Rega P3 / RB 300 combo. His phono stage is the ARC PH3. The combination of these components is very musical - excellent value for the money.
Can you Listen to Vinyl Casually?? Shane, my perspective is that your analog rig is so far ahead of your CD player this is bound to happen. You will get more satisfaction out of your digital source if you move to a SOTA component. (IMHO)Then again, you might not want to do it, as y...
Attn Vinyl lovers - what CD Player do you use? AMR CD-77. It's the best digital source I have personally experienced and is very competitive with mortal analog sources. However, the highest end analog sources still hold the high ground by a noticeable margin. (IMO, of course.)
