Advice on popping noise from Audio Aero Prestige Cics,Just as a follow up. The unit may have been damaged in transit. I have heard of PC boards being cracked during shipping. The Manufacturer will be able to investigate the unit and evaluate the problem. Point being the fault may not lie at the ...
Advice on popping noise from Audio Aero Prestige Cics,I have worked in Audio Retail for many years and this problem will not simply go away. The unit has some kind of defect. You should have your dealer send the unit back IMMEDIATELY. If he does not contact the U.S. distributor for Audio Aero an...
Sony SCD-1 vs Musical Fidelity Tri Vista Baffled,I have owned both and here are my impression. The Sony SCD-1 has a much quieter background and has a more clinical and sterile sound. It does nothing wrong, mind you, just in comparison to the Trivista the sony sounds a bit digital soundin...
Given Avalon Eidleon is considered one of the best I have had Thiel 7.2, Eggleston Andra, Dynaudio C5, Temptation, B&W and some others. None of them gave me as much satisfaction as the Avalons. I am trying to get the scratch for some Avalon Eidolon Diamonds!!
Q. on shootout between time/phase coherent speaker I echo what Arthur has said. Phase/Time coherent speakers are typically tricky to set up. Minute adjustments can yield dramatic results. It can be maddening, but once dialed in they reproduce a clarity hard to ignore. In addition, P/T speakers are...
Conrad Johnson Premier 5 or Premier 12 for ML I have owned both and the lush midrange of the Premier 5's should mate perfectly with the ML CLS's. The Premier 12's are fine amplifiers and have thier own virtues but I far prefer the more polished sound of the Premier 5 to the 12.JMHO,John
Rowlands vs. Levinson Amps. Hello,I currently own the Rowland 201's. They are great amps and for the price a downright steal. Prior to these amps I had a pair of Levinson 33H's. I have heard other Levinson amps as well. I find the Rowland to be slightly tilted to the yin sid...

Why the switch from Kharma/Tenor to DarTZeel/VSA They are switching because of a new amp. Some people have to buy what is new and shiny. Not to mention that maybe they get a discount to go on certain websites and proclaim product X is the greatest since sliced bread!!JOhnny
How do you get to listen to high end speakers? Nm512,Typical response from an ultra high end dealer. You just got introduced to the term high end snobbery. It makes no sense. The audiophile industry is a very small minority of the population. It is not good business to try and grow the hobby. ...
Opinion on Mark Levinson 33H Monoblocks Twilo,Yes i have heard a Levinson 335.5 and I own a pair of 33H's and the 33H's are at a different level. Voices have a more organic quality and sound warmer & I dare say more tubelike than the 300 series amplifiers.hope this helps,Johnny
Speaker Recomendation Paul,B&W nautilus, Aerial Acoustics are nice speakers. I would add Thiel audio 2.4's, any Avalon Acoustics speakers and any Kharma speakers to your list.Johnny
Avalon Eidolon VS the Eidolon Diamonds Philb7777,Very nice summation of the Avalon Eidolon Vs. Eidolon Diamond. I own Avalon Eidolons and agree that they are a phenomenal speaker. I am amazed at the music they make every time i listen. I am curious. Do you find that the Diamonds bass e...
Thiel replacements Ketchup,Ozfly has given some good recommendations. Thiels are very finicky when it comes to cables. Also, you may want to try them along the long wall. I had my thiel's set up with almost no toe in. I had much better success and thought that was t...
