Bricasti Design M1 SE - W/ LAN Network Streamer - Version 1.51 V. Denafrips Terminator
@dpac996 I feel like this generation of high-end DAC/streamers are really converging in terms of being almost indistinguishable from high-end turntables. I have heard the Naim ND555 and have Linn ADS Katatlyst and they both sound extremely good, l...
Bricasti Design M1 SE - W/ LAN Network Streamer - Version 1.51 V. Denafrips Terminator
@dpac996 totally agree. Well implemented ethernet DAC is in another league compared with USB and you don’t need all the band-aid solution to make USB work well. I think Linn had this whole thing figured out over 10 years ago. I still use my 10 yr ...
Bricasti Design M1 SE - W/ LAN Network Streamer - Version 1.51 V. Denafrips Terminator
@dpac996 my bad. Looks like MSB is going modular now. Also looks like they changed owner a few years back. How is their latest DAC?

MSB was left out because they don’t have an all in one network streamer - potential degradation of signal with digital interconnect.

I would skip DAC and go straight to all-in-one network streamer. Too many things can go wrong between streamer and DAC unless they are from a single manufacturer using proprietary connection.Your choice, in addition to Bricasti, should include Lin...

Are there any legitimate competitors to the Linn Klimax DS renew lines at their respective price points? Typically Linn Klimax beats equivalent vintage Naim in their TOTL offering and about the same as dCS in their TOTL offering (similar in qualit...
Network Transport vs. CD Transport
Have yet to hear a CDP that’s clearly better than Linn’s first gen Klimax with power supply upgrade, let alone their latest Katalyst version which is quite mind blowing. I have heard a lot... esoteric, playback, dCS, Ayre, EMM, Naim, etc.
Chicago-area dealer recommendation
Didn’t know Audio Consultants closed. Oh well, looks like I missed some good sale...

Pro Musica Audio - I got my Linn stuff from there as well as some Grado accessories. Very friendly and helpful. They have certain tastes and preferences that I do not share but they respect your ear and always try to be helpful. They have even off...
Linn Klimax DSM
Been Linn steamer user for 10+ yrs. Currently have Klimax Renew and Akurate DS3 with Katalyst. Rest of the system is Ayre power amp and Harbeth speakers. AMA
Pono and the Ayre Codex
ASR is usable only as a general guideline. You will be in trouble if you blindly follow ASR's advice. I have Linn and Chord Dacs/DS which are among the best measured Dacs by ASR and Codex, which is one of the worst measured DACs by ASR. I can say ...
Codex 24/7
Yes. Mine runs 24/7 and it runs hot (even in open space). Sounds good so no complaints.
splitting a digital signal
Your impedance would be messed up and you will have reflection in your digital signal. May or may not sound good to you.
Positive experience with Ayre
The OP reads like an ad shilling for Ayre. However, I agree with OPs observations having been an Ayre customer for over 10 years, with Codex being my latest purchase from Ayre.
What can I do with an old Harbeth M30 midrange driver
@n80, where are you located at? PM me.
