Pontus, Brooklyn+ or Benchmark 3? Pros and Cons
@soix: thank you!  I expected the amp to sound good when it came back, but what I got was even better than I had expected.  Unfortunately, I don't think I can give you the answer you're looking for; I just don't know how to phrase it any better th...
Pontus, Brooklyn+ or Benchmark 3? Pros and Cons
@kjanki:  That's good to know; I was wondering if I'd hear noticeable improvement going from the v1 to the v3.  Thanks!@mahler123: interesting piece of info (I assume you meant Mytek, not Myth -- damned spellcheck!).  Thank you!
Pontus, Brooklyn+ or Benchmark 3? Pros and Cons
thanks guys — I now have two responses with two different recommendations; isn’t anyone going to stand up for Benchmark?   Seriously, I do appreciate the replies, but if anyone could give me some idea of how the sonic characteristics of these th...
Soft, smooth organic SS integrated amps?
+1 for McCormack - great value, and if you need it Steve is still refurbishing them.
If you had access to a time machine, what concerts would you go back to see?
1971 Santana concert at the Allentown Speedway in PA.  Not normally a great venue, the audience is sitting in aluminum bleacher seats with the band on the other side of the racetrack, concession stands behind and underneath the bleachers.  Concert...

Does Age Matter?
I’m 69 — had a decent system in HS and college, that included home built Dynaco pre and power amps, Revox A77 R2R and Dual 1219 TT with a Stanton 681EEE. Then a LONG dry spell, during which my collection of ~1500 LPs was stolen. Got back into it f...

+1 on the DAC — great gear is available for $500 to $2000, and the electronics have made huge improvements in recent years. New or used (as long as it’s 2015 forward) it’s hard to imagine you’ll find better bang for the buck.
2021 audio system wish list
Auditioning a few DACs at home, to see if I can make a significant improvement over my Benchmark 1 without breaking the bank. Happy New Year everyone!
Is this how a Subwoofer Crossover is supposed to work?
There is some great information here, but this thread REALLY has me wondering if I want to mess with subwoofers!
