Differences among the electrostatics of Martin Logan models?
@mijostyn -- thanks for the tip, but $17,000?  I'm sure they sound great, but that's even more than the ML 13's were; I was looking for something in the range of $2-3K.  I will, however, read Sanders' papers, and continue to dream...
Differences among the electrostatics of Martin Logan models?
@palmharbor -- Thanks for your response, I think that's a good way to approach it.  Unfortunately, I listened to several pairs of used ML's, and none of them sounded as good as new ones.  I even listened to a pair of Sequel II's that the owner sai...
Worth of current system
~$7.5K (mostly used, in good shape).  Retail would be closer to $12K.  This does not include HT equipment I used to use for my audio, which would add ~$2.5K more, without the TV and video related boxes.  It adds up, but it's worth it.

Thanks ledoux, I agree with you; the X is not as good as the 9; unfortunately, the 9 is out of my budget too, so I'll have to save up for now.  Good luck finding your ESL 9's!
Effects of different feet on floorstanders with a thickish rug
Are you asking about a concrete floor with various things on top of it or are you comparing a concrete floor to a traditional joist and plywood floor?@n80 -- no, the OTHER post I referred to was asking about a concrete floor. I have a tradition...
Effects of different feet on floorstanders with a thickish rug
Exact same thing.@millercarbon -- I'm not sure what you mean; your advice in the other thread seemed to be fairly specific to hard floors.  I'm trying to determine what effect the use of spikes with a rug is likely to have on SQ.
Shocked removed spikes, used blue tack, what other non spike footer
I'd like to hear members responses to the effect of spikes and other foot treatments on a fairly thick rug; I don't want to hijack this thread, so I'll start another one.
I have three speakers avaiable to me??
I just built mine using four of this exact 10" driver which right now includes a precision cut cabinet for free https://www.parts-express.com/morel-ultimate-uw-1058-10-subwoofer--297-130 together with the Dayton SA1000 amp and you will not find be...
Can one ever be "done" in this hobby?
I've been searching the classifieds for the last three months, looking for a pair of speakers I could be happy with for the next 10 years, and listening to as many setups as I could, within 100 miles...  Fun experiment, but I finally pulled the pl...
What equipment have you bought this year so far ?
Usher Mini Dancer 2's (used);Bluesound Vault 2;Thiel 1.2's (well used)Next up, some amp decisions!
Manufacturers pushing their products and agenda in the forums.
Why is it so difficult to ask people who own or work for an audio business to simply identify themselves at the top of their post? If I see that, and decide to continue reading, that’s my business. There is really no need to flame or censor someon...
Song (or music) you want played at your funeral.
A lot of great ideas here, but I’ll go with You Can’t Always Get What you Want — my favorite scene from The Big Chill, with Kevin Costner in the box — what a cool extra!
Does anyone have experience with Bohlender Grabener RD 75 ribbon transducers?
@atmasphere -- thanks for the info; they're being sold by someone in Santa Ana, CA, who apparently inherited several (that had never been used) from his uncle.  I listened to them, and they sounded good, but would have to be paired with other spea...
