DrubinWhat's the book called? What else does it cover.Wish I could rember what I did with my Hartley book but was of limited use in set up.Also years ago I had a college physic textbook which used pre-CD era Hifi to demonstrate concepts in physics....
Anybody know a company called Lectron?Swiss???
Saw a set on ebay that had a "buy it now" of $2200 for the intergrated amp that put out 30 wpc but ti was the snazzy MM/MC section that caught my eye. Some guy didn't hit reserve on it.This is in my search for a phono stage that has multiple inputs...
Active crossovers
BTW just saw on ebay somebody paid $3500 for a set of vintage Marantz x-overs!!Seems a bit steep but....
What integrated amp for JM Labs Conbalt 816's?
If on the cheap a used Acurus DIA00 for $400 or a remote DIA150 for $800 (half of list)or so are great deals.Really it's not an intergrated per say as it's line stage is passive and the power amps input sensivity is cranked way up.Cheap to add a 1...
Active crossovers
Anybody know how crossover-less Gallo Ref's would factopr into eqauation. They have no X-over persay on a supplied Cap that can be inserted between Bi-wire posts.
Why do crossovers do more harm than good???
PatrickDidn't notice there was a simmilar thread posted just recently.Guess my differentiation with others is that my Gallo Ref's have a capacitor hooked between bi-wire posts as opposed to crossovers per say. Then I have leads hooked to lower "bas...

Need a "short list" of best Subwoofers for M.L.'s
Stay with small drivers which are fast and pitch accurate.Vandersteen and REL are the nods I got and would have plonked down but went with floorstanders instead. Also I might still add the a sub and if I do am thinking of a good external X-over to ...
What controls/adjustments are needed for phono pre
I guess it must be a cache that is altered. Not sure if there are others like itI think that Stanton migh put out a simmilar product but not sure if it has this "key" feature (hee hee).Might be on a support web site but not sure.
BAT 5se VS 50se?
Anybody know how the 30SE stands up to either?
BAT 300i
True enough. But I forgot to mention th eremote is extra $500.Bat is tremendous gear fairly priced for how well it made/good it sounds. But given that you lose flexibility and you aren't going to find it (the intergrated) used my suggestion may make...
Wright Phono pre-amp??
JeffForgetting that it is MM only $2500 Clams is over three times the price of the Wright.Given the quality of your table whether you get this phono that caught your fancy step up to a better cartridge. One thing you can find here on Audiogon is go...
BAT 300i
Veery nicestuff but that amp is pricey. You can get a used VK3 pre for $1250 and a fantastic BAT 60 wpc tube(fine in mist sized rooms for your speakers) or a 100 awtt SS amp both for less than $2K.But that intergated will cost $4K.Phono section $50...
