Accuphase dac 60
Agree, no shortage of choices of external DACs less than 2K. Another well regarded option is the Swiss made Merason Frerot DAC.  Charles
New Project RS2T transport
Things continue to improve every time I listen. Good recordings are exciting to listen to with a lot of break-in still to go. I know there are many fine choices you can weigh your pluses and minuses. For what I was trying to achieve the Nikola...

@robshaw  Here is my take, there are a lot of very high quality audio products available in a very competitive marketplace environment. So, excellent for us consumers of such products. I understand that I’ll never come close to actually hearing a...
Where to invest the most in the "digital chain"?
I was told by someone in the industry to spend the money on the DAC and AMP (electrical path) and that the output from various streamers was pretty much the same, assuming a properly implemented streamer like $400 plus, b...
Accuphase dac 60
@duke89061 First time with me personally ever noticing a change with burn in, which I was never a believer in. Now I am. Ha! This has been a learning experience. Burn-in for many components is most definitely real phenomenon. I’m not surprised ...
Accuphase dac 60
@duketbrd88 When @lalitk said the slot chosen was the issue I thought “wow” what a simple fix (Resolution to the prob). Alas it wasn’t the culprit afterall. There’s still a possibility that something might be faulty. If indeed it is just a case ...
Where to invest the most in the "digital chain"?
Yes , I believe a great DAC needs an equally good digital front end. I just ordered a streamer to go with my DAC. The Vault sounds good but I question the quality of its coax digital out. I will find out Thursday if this line of thinking is co...
Accuphase dac 60
@duketbrd88 It seems for whatever reason Accuphase has implemented the  DAC 60 card to operate with a low voltage output. I have to give them benefit of the doubt and assume it’s for a good reason. I can see your point for certain. You have to t...
Atma-Sphere Class D… Amazing
@atmasphere (Ralph)  As always your explanations and insight are most appreciated and welcome. I agree with your “no accounting for taste “ as this is true. Be it audio components/music genre/food or automobiles etc. as human beings, We like what...
Silver Speaker Cables
I think any differences heard are so miniscule per dollar spent, you’d be better off buying better components than changing a cable. In some scenarios this could certainly be the case given the many independent variables of specific audio syste...
Silver Speaker Cables
A wire that is copper with silver plating will not sound the same, and you should want to be talking apples to apples and not apples to oranges. Also expect about 200 hours of break-in to achieve the best sound. Very good distinction Lak, and g...
Accuphase dac 60
“The DAC60 option board should be installed in slot #1. The slot #2 is for optional phono board” Wow! I hope the resolution is this simple. That’d be terrific news. Charles
Accuphase dac 60
Yes, if in fact the situation is DAC 60 1.23v versus P.S.Audio 5.5V, that’d literally explain everything. The voltage output differential is huge. Surely Accuphase can answer the question regarding output voltage. Charles
Accuphase dac 60
@lalitk The DAC60 is a dedicated digital input board that simply decodes incoming digital signal and inputs directly into preamplifier analog section That is why I am seeking affirmation. If it doesn’t have an output voltage (Of its own) and ...
Accuphase dac 60
@lalitk  You are pretty familiar with Accuphase components. Do you think that the DAC 60 card output voltage is derived from the integrated amplifier’s preamplifier output or does it likely have its own independent output voltage? Charles
