Capitol Audio Fest Sal,That sure seems to be the case based on feedback covering both shows.I attended the AXPONA in Chicago last year and it was pretty decent. The Capitol city show does appear to be on an ascending track.Charles
Tekton Double Impacts Scott,I didn't infer that your comments were critical of Ozzy's post at all. Even if he gets the impeadanc curve information he seeks he'd still need to actually hear this speaker with his Atma-sphere amplifiers. My point to him is There's an abu...
Tekton Double Impacts Sbayne,Regarding ozzy moving on away from the Tektons. Maybe so but no matter what speaker he chooses down the road he’ll have to hear them in his system. He needs to determine whether or not a given speaker is a match for his amplifier and system...
Capitol Audio Fest Bested on the comments here I just may visit this show next year. Detroit to D.C. is a relatively short flight.Charles
Absolute top tier DAC for standard res Redbook CD If that current impression holds up, for me it would be Davinci 2 stays and I'd wave bye to the Boulder.😊Charles
Capitol Audio Fest Larry,Your explanation of the Zu presentation fits what I’ve heard perfectly. Driven by SS amplifiers at high volume playing rock music, just not good. Wish I could hear Gary’s system (Zu DEF IV MK II and Ancient Audio components) at reasonable vo...
Tekton Double Impacts LP, 60 days (even 30 days) is very generous time to audition in your own system. By far the best method to decide about an audio product. Hook them up to your amplifier and just listen.
Tekton Double Impacts James,Agree.Charles
Capitol Audio Fest Larry, so I’m not the only one who has found the Classic Audio speaker rooms to sound bright in chracter (and a bit thin as well). This is based on several encounters. I feel like the odd one as they get pretty much high praise from most listeners...
Absolute top tier DAC for standard res Redbook CD Ctsooner,Excellent observation and advice. Relaxed body drawn into the music and emotionally connecting. The components that spontaneously and naturally allow this are the superior choice. Toe tapping and head bobbing with the musical flow speak v...
Capitol Audio Fest Hi Gary,Okay I understand. You certainly have a spacious room and very attractive I might add 😊.Charles
Tekton Double Impacts Ozzy,One thing this thread has confirmed is the speaker sounds very good with a "wide" range of amplifiers. I don't know who's e-mailing you and honestly some people just prefer higher power amplifiers and Will simply have that preference. My poi...
Capitol Audio Fest Gary (gsm18439),Very mixed impressions of the Zu room. This speaker puzzles me as I’ve heard them on 4 different occasions and each has been disappointing. You, 213 Cobra and Germanboxers own and love your DEF IV. I respect all of you guy’s ears b...
Capitol Audio Fest Hi Larry,Very nice show report. I too was curious about Tekton Double Impacts given the considerable hype. I'm glad you were able to hear them (-and mapman as well). We agree, definitely good sounding speakers and they're easily driven by lower ...
For tube sound, which is more important: preamp or power amp? "The other way around can be just as rewarding"Hifiman5 thanks for sharing this personal revelation. Different types of components can be combined with success. Charles |
