What is Technics thinking?
Strange feeling! Maybe because i’ve been using Technics SL1200mk2 on radiostations, in the clubs and at home for more than 20 years (because of my work). I still don’t understand why their luxury Porsche looks exactly like restored and polished cl...
Cartridge Demagnetization: Moving Magnet/Iron vs Moving Coil Processes
For MM/MI you can use Cardas Frequency Sweep LP that ultrasonically clean the cartridge stylus and degauss the entire system. This is another crazy trick (free of charge), i’m not sure about it, but you can watch the video instruction.
TUBES: Telefunken EL84 & ECC801
@rodman99999 Hi, sorry i've missed your request. I have checked my Telefunken ECC801s and yes, on the bottom they have a diamond. My tubes looks exactly like this one.
Technics EPA 100P - Tonearm
@nandric Your ZYX  is 5 g. As such a kind of an exception among the MC carts. So there is no contradiction because your ZYX does not satisfythe mentioned  condition of 9 g . correstion: Zyx Premium 4D (with Silver Base 2) total weight is 7.9 gm....
Technics EPA 100P - Tonearm
I never had any problems with Zyx Airy and later Zyx Premium 4D (with silver base) mounted on my EPA-100 few years ago, replacing stock technics headshell to Zyx Live 18 was an improvement. I had a short conversation with Micke (the owner of this ...

@audio60 Do you mean Technics EPA-100 PNA ?
What is Technics thinking?
If you love technics that much and willing to spend 4k why don’t you buy used SP10mk2 with custom plinth of your choise and tonearm of your choise (all for less than 4k for sure)? With custom plinth it’s easy to swap the tonearms. Everybody knows ...

Luxman p444 has arrived. What a great turntable! I’m looking forward to mount second tonearm.Fitting in the Schick "12 tonearm with Argent MC500HS cartridge was not so easy, it took several hrs to play with alignment template comes with Hi-Fi Test...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
I don’t think A&R 77, which cost $50 normally and shows up on ebay every month, is the same as Garrott P77 which goes for $600 minimum in used condition and rarely turns up for sale. I’ve seen many debates on other forums about this. The thing...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
I will repead my question regarding this rare top of the line PIONEER PC-1000 mkII cartridge, because every month we’re talking about the same cartridges here, but there are a few with zero info and Pioneer PC-1000/II is the one of them. Anyone co...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Well, if you haven't seen a post about orders delay at SoundSmith for re-tipping you can try his own replacement stylus that sells separately as a special limited edition unit (including ruby ones), it looks a bit ugly (not like original grace rub...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
@jeff1225 Grace is good too, but normally goes for the higher price with elliptical stylus. Fine Line stylus of Ortofon m20FL is different! If you like Grace you’d better try top F9-F (the rarest in the Grace line) with Line Contact stylus and ext...
