3 Cartridges Reviewed The key is what you see after CU digits, all Japanese cartridge compliance measured at 100Hz (and that’s clearly stated in the manual), i’m talking about Dynamic compliance (forget about static compliance). Japanese manufacturers measured dynamic ...
3 Cartridges Reviewed @dodgealum ART 9 ($1000/18CU) would perform against two lower compliance contenders that might represent a better match to my new tonearm--the Ortofon Quintet Black ($800/15CU) and the Soundsmith Zephyr MIMC STAR ($2000/10CU). Let me correct you...
How good is the Obsidian plinth of Technics SP10 ? @best-groove i got a set of 4 (Audio-Technica 636) in original box in mint condition if you need them. They are quite rare and very nice pneumatic insulators.
MC phono preamp JJ tubes are horrible compared to vintage Telefunken, Sylvania Gold Brand, RCA, Japanese Matsushita pinched tails. The best place for JJ tube is garbage.
Cartridge Advice Please At the same time SoundSmith aka Peter Ledermann, who serviced many thousands of cartridges, hates conical tips and explains why MI are superiour to the MC in his lecture, just watch it: https://youtu.be/F65mODzn4Gk
