Technics 1200GR Owners @last_lemming it shouldn't be a problem, just lower the volume, Glanz should be great.
Technics 1200GR Owners @last_lemming The AT-ML series is unbeatable, if your budget is limited you can start with AT-ML150 (Beryllium cantilever), but it will be impossible to find anything close to AT-ML170 for much lower price if you’re considering new MM cartridges. ...
SAT 30K+$$ TONEARM: W O R T H T O H A V E I T ? WowThis post has disappeared from the radars and now it's back. Magic !
Technics 1200GR Owners @last_lemming I was thinking of trying and Audio Technica MM cart but I’m not sure which one would be the best fit because I’m not that familiar with that line. Mid compliance cartridges are great on Technics tonearm, Audio-Technics AT-ML180 OCC ...

Technics 1200GR Owners Unfortunately DL-103R modded by Zu does not get what’s on the records, because it has a Conical tip with very small contact area, also the Technics tonearm is not heavy enough (the effective mass) for low compliance oldschool cartridges. The life ...
review iPhono 2 @racedoc The (of course in my opinion)clear winner in that price range is the Trichord Dino Mk3. Especiallywith the optional Dino+ PSU it is my clear favoured "best bang forthe buck". As i can see Trichord Dino MK3 is another phono stage design...
SP-10 Mat @pryso the alcohol on copper mat surface is a disaster, must be avoided, it will leave sings that hard to clean. My experience was very bad.
SP-10 Mat @downunder hmm, i never tried the upsidedown placement, i think this is correct placement, but CU-500 is much thicker. Yeah, to remove the mat you might need to flip the whole turntable :))
TT mats @enginerd1960 i think the spindle is too short to place a mat on top of the rubber mat on most of the turntables, but it is possible on SP-10mkII
SP-10 Mat @jarrett I find the Micro-Seiki mat to be a bit too lively but outstanding in terms of dynamics and soundstage. The stock rubber mat is too dull and bloated. Yes, the rubber mat must be avoided (imo), Micro CU-180 and CU-500 are great for Techn...
New or used cartridge @mulveling I've also heard that Koetsu will not touch a cartridge that's been worked on by any 3rd party. Not only Koetsu, but almost every respected manufacturer will not touch the cartridge if it was refurbished by somebody else before.
Isolation stands: snakeoil? If CD player beat any turntable then something wrong with your turntables @willemj
What is the preferred cartrige mm or mc and why @atmasphere Right, i use JLTi phono stage for the same reason with a bunch of different RCA plugs resistors. I just asked the designer of JLTi to change internal resistors to 500k Ohm, so i can load it down with parallel RCA plugs resistors to wha...
What is the preferred cartrige mm or mc and why @atmasphere to get the best out of MM its a good idea to load them correctly. This the reason why people don't really understand the potential of MM cartridges, their phono stage has ONLY 47k Ohm loading. It must be at least 30-100K Ohm range ... |
