I need some turntable guidance
I know where a supposed good deal is on a demo turntable for $10k. One of my questions is should I spend that kind of money or say are the differences marginal or great from a $5k to spending $10k? What do you get when you go up in price? Or what ...

You can’t go wrong with new Technics SL1000R or SP10R and if it’s too much then look for SL1200G the GR is even cheaper
AT OC9 XEB?
The LP Gear is a strange source, they are always selling some styli that does not looks like an original styli (obvious for those who have the originals). Now even their description for a cartridge has nothing to do with reality, everyone can see ...
Vacuum tubes: Radio tubes, TV tubes, Audio tubes
Many industrial tubes are just bad, some are very good.Military Telefunken tubes are oustanding. Russian military tubes are better than industrial.
So many great golden era DD tables out there, what do you recommend for $1000?
produce a mat made of an animal skin is horrible, would you use a human skin instead ?
Cartridge Reccomendations for the MoFi Ultradeck
I personally am not fond of vintage cartridges. Cartridge technology has improved with better magnets, materials and geometry. @mijostinNot at all, actually we lose Beryllium cantilevers forever, we lose Boron Pipe cantilevers forever, manufactur...

@tomic601 for DV 23R you don't need a heavy tonearm, this is not a low compliance cartridge, the best for the money is Victor UA-7045 if we're discussing vintage tonearms. Fidelity-Research FR-64fx. Technics EPA-100. Or maybe those Dynavector tone...

The original DP-80 plinth is pretty decent, it does not looks like a cheap plinth from that era, the finishing is nice, the color is nice. Much better than any Victor stock plinth for example (imo). Adding AT-616 pneumatic footers is a must for su...
Cartridge Reccomendations for the MoFi Ultradeck
Do you know the effective mass of MoFi tonearm ?As i can see their own MM cartridges are low compliance 8 or 10cu (if the figure stated at 10Hz, we don’t know). If those carts are made in Japan the compliance is measured at 100Hz and it will be hi...

chakster I need a tonearm for the SOTA....thoughts....thinking of a Dynavector Ruby or even a Decca...????? Do you mean a cartridge for your Sota ? Dynavector 23R Ruby is great, my version was with Micro Ridge stylus. I never tried Decca cartri...
Miyajima MADAKE experience
@vortrex  Strange, the reviewer's choice for Madake (for example) was Reed 3p and there is no difference in mass and compliance between Kansui and Madake.
AT OC9 XEB?
But why an MC if you need only for limited time and it's not primary replacement?

Miyajima MADAKE experience
My thread was created about 4 years ago and since that day i was thinking about Miyajima cartridge for my collection. I have missed many great offers from the official distributors of Miyajima in several countries from USA to New Zealand, also ask...

Thanks for a kind words @normansizemore The design of the Luxman PD-444 reminds me a cutting lathe for its monolith (22kg without arms). The rails with armboards for almost any tonearm is such a clever idea, so easy to use and adjust anytime. In c...
