Legacy SE versus Vandersteen Quatros
No fun to argue with somebody who runs for the hills, cheers
What`s your fave Audiophile Chill Out recording?
Lowell George, "Thanks I'll eat it here" Just a well recorded fun musical ride everytime I get around to playing it.
Looking for opinions on the Legacy studio HD
I still love those Green Mountain Callisto monitors and would try to hear some if you get the chance.
Legacy SE versus Vandersteen Quatros
I guess the "brake" in the Whisper was an electronic patch to overcome a flawed way of making a speaker, thats what you insinuate was behind the 11 band EQ system in the Quatro. How do you in one breath claim a dislike for a way of how a speaker f...
Legacy SE versus Vandersteen Quatros
So the Whisper has bass that comes from front and rear, that must "involve" the room............right? How is it you note you dont like a speaker that fires from side or rear and yet you own one? Yes its Dipole bass but its still "involving" the r...
Legacy SE versus Vandersteen Quatros
Its not how low you go its how well you go low and that what Vandersteen owners have discovered. Can you tune the Legacy to your room? Oh I know..............NO.
How high the rears?
Smaller rooms are more suited for above ear (high on wall) placement because as they are small they will be close and call attention to themselves, placing them high will be more ambient in a smaller room. You want ambient not direct.
How high the rears?
Db, I would still place ot high on wall but thats just me (well me audiofreakgeek) :) Vocal and mains you want to hear it ofcourse anchored in its proper place relative to your ears as its intended to be directional and easy to hear the steering o...
"God Bless the Child" on Idol?
I think the show is better than when Simon was there. Now the focus isnt so much on insults (that I admit I anjoyed) but more "move along" and make way for the talent. So it lost some of its side show schtick but I think its a more mature show for...
How high the rears?
I like it higher on the wall so as to not get directional sound that is easily placed by ear. But this is one of those topics where you will get a few opinions. To me I should not hear the output from the actual speaker, I want to hear it breathin...
Legacy SE versus Vandersteen Quatros
When you grow up Sthomas you will learn :) Most everything you say flies in the face of my and others experience but you said you like big drivers so its likely your bias wont let you see past that. If your happy then thats great, one can be happy...
Legacy SE versus Vandersteen Quatros
I have years of experience with both models (well Legacy Focus 20/20) that is 90-95% of what the HD now is. The Legacy was a speaker lived with happily for over 5 yrs till we heard the Quatro, the bass was so much more, more slam, impact, better p...
Is Stereophile seeking a new reader demographic?
They should also back off politcal rants IMO, far too many times they take jabs about things that have nothing to do with music and that surely does cause some to take pause if not cancel membership alltogether.
Is Stereophile seeking a new reader demographic?
Who cares? Its free, use it, give it away, or pitch it in the trash. We even complain when something is free now? I got the renew with this offer and actually thought it was kinda cool, sure it may go into a junk drawer but ya never know it may be...
