WOW factor
MOVING INTO MY OWN MUSIC ROOM! By having a space that was all mine that I could make as "Ugly" with room treatments as need be that nobdoy had to see was a huge WOW, probably bigger than most other ideas here.
A Newbie's First Week Impressions -- Vinyl Rules
Xiekitchen, I hope that was a joke and Jwglista knows that isnt anywhere near the truth. I have about a $2500 Vinyl rig and not alot of money but buying the VPI 16.5 was a great investment period, I buy records for as little as $0.50 at Goodwill a...
Pioneer stop Plasma production.......
I cant believe they are walking away from that investment and turning their back on superb performance, looks like Panasonic is king of the crop now as most ranked Pioneer Elite 1 and Panasonic 2.
ARC Reference 3 preamp: tube character?
Poster sounds like a Conrad Johnson man to me, my dad owns the Ref3 and its nuetral.....and sounds fantastic!
to diffuse or absorb...
Diffuee behind speakers and absorb wall behind you, I absorb first reflections but other diffuse that area but I do know that diffuse behind speakers and absorb behind your head works best, I have Di-pole Hybrids and follow this rule.
Innersound Speakers
Mine are for sale for same reason too much head in the vise, but when you are in that very small space they can really thrill. I went with VMPS for Hybrid with Dynamic woofers and Planar mids and Riboon tweets feeling like I had the speed and deta...
Silliest audiophile equipment of all time?
Dont play into this posters hand, this kid just joined so he can go mock everyone in another forum where they think spending $1000 on all items qualifies as a Home Theater. This is his first post and likely has last, so dont put bullets in his gun.
Is "audiophile" being overused in the LP listings?
I actually wrote that guy with the "Aja", he has used that term more than once, after I asked what he plays it on, how many does he have to qualify THAT pressing and a few other questions I was not satisfied with his answer. Looking back it was si...
Jeff Healey Rest In Peace
R.I.P. Jeff, thanks for the music! BTW MoFimadness quoted Jeff from "RoadHouse", thanks Mofi, terrible movie but that made me smile.
Dylan & Starbucks anyone?
Atleast at Walmart the prices are realistic.
Good power ratio HT: fronts, rears, center, sub
Is the 1066 the same as 1098 in that I can adjust bass/treable for all speaker channels? That can help awell if your center or surrounds may sound bright or even a bit dull compared to mains....I trim my centers treble back a touch and up the bass...
Good power ratio HT: fronts, rears, center, sub
I run Rotel 1068 Pro with 400w X 2 (Bi-amped mains) and 125 watts to center (92db) and 75 watts to all 4 surrounds so I can say this will easily work, it does for me. BTW I run movies at pretty high volume and have never clipped or heard distortio...
Vandersteen Quatros or B&W 803D's
I know a dealer who has tuned the Quatro with great results near wall, maybe not as good as more room would allow but these speakers offer great adjustment....cheers
Vandersteen Quatros or B&W 803D's
I think the Quatro is by far one of the best values in audio period. My father has the Wood Quatro and even with his financial ability and the upgrade for free program Richard offers he feels no need to go with the 5A. The BW model can ben very br...
center channel
I think you need a center with those, I really needed one with my Estat's but they didnt have a curved panel. Even with a center that doesnt match it still sill be better the Phantom IMO.
