Wadia 861SE with GNSC Statement Upgrade Hi Bombaywalla,I had a Wadia 861se with GNSC statement upgrade. I can assure you it has nothing to compare with DCS or Esoteric top end models. The wadia was lacking in definition. It had a big sound but with little resolution or depth in soundsta...
If cables can break-in, can they then wear-out? Danmyerssounds like good stuff. Do you have a mixture for solid core cables? I am sure the velvety blackness has now become a steely whiteness due to my solid core cables being over 6 months old. They are aging badly.I would like the wooden box wi...
More convinced of analog than ever I wonder when this debate will finally die? I am guessing soon.Digital is getting better almost every year. Not to say analogue has not got better too, but at this rate analogue will be confined to the history books quite soon with only the most s...
Wyred 4 Sound Class D Amps ???........... The only way is to try them. I think each new generation seems to deal with another problem inherent in the design. So I guess for a while it will be all up in the air as to which one is best for which type of set up.Class D amps are the way forwa...
Ypsilon Electronics I agree with Elberoth2,they sound very refined and are sonically balanced towards the warm sweet side, look good, but are extremely expensive. I have not heard them in my own set up, but I have heard them many times at shows over the years.
Is music quality moving away from the "audiophile" Hevac1,you are probably right. I would also say that an audiophile recording sounding good on many high end hifis is luck too!
Recommendation for vacuum tube CD-player Audio Aero Capitole SE is a lovely CDP. It has both balanced and single ended outs which are variable so there is no need for a preamp. It can also action a digital pre.Not the best build quality in the world but sounds very nice.
How to get one the best 2009 sound from 1986 DAC I wouldnt waste your time. Get a newer player. Mapman is right, digital playback has come a long way since then.
Will Rowland 201 monos drive Magnepan MG-1's OK? Should work fine. You will find the JR a little lean in the bass but with great control and nice detail. Its is an early version of ICE power.

Rock: well recorded bass...60s/70s Haha, I will be thankful.I wont look through the listings for one then.I do remember the old 8 track studio recorders with 1 inch and I think 2 inch reels. I seem to remember they were not so bad. A friend of mine bought a Nakamichi dragon the oth...
Rock: well recorded bass...60s/70s Thegoldenear,no idea about the 8 track. I never heard one either! They were slightly before my time, though my dad had one or was it a 4 track?A very merry christmas to you.
Rock: well recorded bass...60s/70s The goldenear, I had forgotten about the humble 8 track. I have not even seen a tape in a very long time let alone an 8 track. A friend of mine told me the other day that his 8 year old son went to see his brother and came back and said "wow uncle...
Rock: well recorded bass...60s/70s Hi The goldenear,I would agree that the medium for music will change. Who can be bothered with manufacturing CDs, transporting them etc.I am not sure you can say "ItÂ’s strange they never tried to improve analog like they do digital I guess the roo...
Maggie Mates and REL sub Quite a few years ago I tried and failed to make the Stadium 3 sit. I had a few maggies at the time and the Rel just would not blend. Have you had any success? |
