ATC Scm 19 V1 Upgrade or what?
Assume you have money, so I unabashedly recommend the ATC 19A or even the 40A which will smoke your current setup.  And not that your current setup is wanting.  Active will get you there.  Period.
Luxman LX-380 for LS3/5a's? Alternative?
I’ve run the Sugden A21SE for years and with original Rogers LS 3/5As.  I love that amp, but it is quite cable sensitive to get the bass right.  I finally settled on Decware Silver cables.  I’m not saying that is the only cable that works, just my...
I Pulled the Trigger on the Gaia IIIs. Another Very Positive Tweak! Next Up Schumann!
It is a weird wonderful improvement.  I assumed my ATC 40 actives would have integrated all the design bells and whistles to include optimal spikes for their product.  Wrong!  Oh, it’s a great transducer in stock form.  However, nothing but improv...
Your advice needed, speakers to buy $8K to $13K
ATC 19A.  Forget the amps, you don’t need them.  Sealed cabinets so less interaction with surroundings.  Quite dynamic and really really fast.  Substantial bass yet not rumbling.  Small unobtrusive footprint.  10K/pr.
Rogers LS/35A Classic Mini Monitors Reviewed ! WOW
Rogers are always a pleasant experience.  Not the most dynamic, they do not rumble, are less than painfully resolute, they are simply musical and pleasant. They do change with upstream improvements and make polite accommodation for lesser quality c...
Speaker Spike Philosophy
I run the Gaia footers with very good affect under my ATC 40 actives.  I just followed through this morning with a menagerie of allen wrenches and star pieces to tighten up the driver component attachments to the cabinets.  I give credit to Tom, p...
Best skiinny floorstanders
After reviewing the Ethos model and appreciating the speed of panels, consider the ATC 40 active which provides a small foot print, the slam of active woofers and match the great speed of panels.  They also image more widely than the Ethos and you...
Best portable headphones and DAC
You mention headphones.  Just wondering if IEM were considered for even more portability.  There are several great ones for $200+.
Best "Bang for the Buck" you have owned?
+1 Dueland DCA16GA interconnect.  Unbelievably great for small admission price.  Big Ear Stereo sells bulk for way cheap.
WILSON AUDIO.....BIG NAME, BIG PRICE........ARE THEY THAT GOOD?
I’ve spent decades doubting the power of marketing, even though it’s one of my degrees.  Strong marketing does explain the strength of several products which really may not represent to many a cohesive price/performance formula.Truly successful ma...
Tube preamp suggestion
Regarding deHavilland and the Ultraverve preamp, Kara has left the building. Recently, I’ve been in email contact with her and bribed her with premium Vermont syrup and money to upgrade my Mercury 3 with the newest and most premium V caps.  She gr...
Tube amplifier upgrade suggestions welcome.
2K gets you into amazing used Manley Mahi Mahi mono blocks.  EL 84 based, these rock out with 40wpc and changeable modes for triode.  You can vary the timbre of the amp with small switches. They tube roll well and mine were very reliable and stable...
Recommend a dac that contributes to system for tight bass
Not more bass, not a lower register of bass, just tight or tighter bass.  Mojo Mystique V3.  I’m easily able to discern the textural differences of the acoustical instrument itself of Gomez vs Brown vs Bromberg vs Pettiford and so on.  Obviously, ...
Looking for a ‘’No braine’r Integrated amplifier under 7500 or so
I got lost.  OP stated:  Looking for a ‘’No braine’r Integrated amplifier under 7500 or so...So, OP is asking for integrated, right?  I’ll chime in with the Sugden people.  I own several pieces and they all perform in a stunning fashion.
Warm, rich but detailed SS preamp (made you give up tubes)
audioguy85,I agree Sudgen is great, have owned and own several pieces.  Actually still have an A21SE among others.  However, the OP queried about preamps, so that suggestion might be redirected to the Sugden Masterclass LA-4 which I’m sure is terr...
