Crossover-less Speakers
Tbj, let us know how like like the Feastrex thanks."Different parts of the cone respond at different frequency,"Assuming the cone is not behaving like a piston. But you don't know that. Even multi-way speakers, 1st order x-over included, can exhib...

"The S40 is now a 50 watt class A amp"So what is the differenced between this class A amp and Cairn, Sugden, Musical Fidelity, Monarchy, etc?Is the bigger difference between class A amps as a group and other amps or between individual class A amps...
Crossover-less Speakers
I did but have not heard any single driver that I could unconditionally recommend. All are idiosyncratic and you have to accept each's limitation, just like any speaker.I am now leaning to 2 way / no x-over like Epos, Andra I, etc. or Shadorne's s...

Speakers for $140 or less
Crutchfield has the new Primus 152 for $99 I think.
Why so expensive??
I've had 2 mfgr's say they charge outrageous prices because people will pay it. One said he was charging double what he considered a fair price. If he sold for 1/2 his current price people would not take his product seriously. Why sell 100 of somet...
Why are hi-end active monitors not more popular?
AGGHHHHHHH!!!Anyhow this is why:1) You need a wall outlet for each speaker - any active speaker.2) As someone mentioned I think, most are voiced to be listened to in the direct field as near or close-field monitors. I do not know how much the desi...

Would a $20,000 ATC active 100 system be considered "good"?

Good concept / bad implementation is the usual problem.
