Knockoffs- how can they just advertise so easily?
@akg_ca assemble in the US.  parts are sourced from everywhere.
Comparing Legacy Focus snd PS Audio FR20
You didn't say what amp you are planning to use.  I have long oogled the Legacy Focus SE with it's high sensitivity as a great candidate to pair with a 300b or similar SET.   The PSAudio at 87 dB needs much more power and to get class A power to ...
Knockoffs- how can they just advertise so easily?
If you are only interested in the two examples give in the OP, then I have no info.  I was speaking of the name brands that have their stuff made in China, most do.  Examples include Kimber Cable, Cardas cable stock, and WBT cable connectors.  The...
Knockoffs- how can they just advertise so easily?
Many of these "counterfeits" are made in the same factories as the originals.   a company orders 10,000 and the disreputable manufacturer makes 20,000 and the sells them undercutting the OEM, stealing the intellectual property and all the other in...
Dedicated 20 amp circuit. 10/2 or 10/3?
Another reason to have a circuit from each side would be if you found one side noisier than the other you could plug everything into the less noisy side. Remember the threads of people trying to find mysterious noises?  switching to the other leg...
Dedicated 20 amp circuit. 10/2 or 10/3?
One "side" is the red wires and one "side" is the black wires.  Each of these wires to neutral is 120V.  Red to black is how you get 240V.   You should keep your load somewhat balanced on red and black but the entire audio system will not be a bi...
Dedicated 20 amp circuit. 10/2 or 10/3?
Lets think about why a dedicated line was conceived and what it is used to achieve. A dedicated line does the following in my mind: 1. Ensure that your audio system has more than enough power to handle a big amp pulling pulses of high current for...
JJ preamp tubes - repeated problems
Tubes are a consummable. use this as an opportunity to upgrade. PS  I wouldn't own an amp with 24 tubes.
Bi-amping Polk 50 monitors with Onkyo receiver
It's free so why not experiment.  I will be surprised it it is an improvment. You will need a way to adjust the relative volume.  Pretty sure the reciever will provide that. Jerry
Most impactful for playing soft
I had a friend over last night and we listened for hours. Couldn’t believe how great the system was sounding. House was dead quiet and the room was full. I pulled out my phone and the sound meter said average in low 50 dB. I didn’t believe it so I...

Speaking plainly, I consider what you have just observed to be the difference between your system and the next level up (maybe 2 levels if you take small steps).   To get to where you want to be I'd replace every component you have named.   Jerry
Mogami Power Cable
@lcjockey I thought I saw a yarbo option that didn't have individual insulated strands.  I think that was an idea not well thought out and they are eager to sell out of it.  I agree, avoid it.  -Jerry
Interconnects
Use your current interconnects and enjoy your new components.  after you have fully formed your opinions and understand your new sound, then consider new interconnects.  It will be clearer to you then. Jerry
Mogami Power Cable
As I mentioned, both of the other cables mentioned by the OP are shielded.  In addition to what Erik said, I'll add that I don't trust this guy much.  I'd double check everything he says, especially whether a ground wire is required.  His graphic...
A persistent hummmm...
Has the amp ever been quiet or did it have this hum from the first time you used it? I’ve had hum from tube amps associated with noisy tubes. Atmasphere already confirmed you swapped the input tubes whch are more likely to be the problem. I’ve ha...
