What is the Current Guidance on Stereo and AV Configurations If 2 channel is your priority, as it is for most people here, then just set up your 2 channel as you want it. You'll need an extra Preamp In connection on your amp or preamp. I have a second pre-in on my amp. Buy a nice AV amp with as many chan...
Changing from European to American power supply on clearaudio emotion TT Transformers don't change frequency. The best suggestion you've been offered is to change pully's. that requires that either you can calculate the right pully size and bets or the OEM has done it for you. A bit tricky as the effective diameter ...

Living With A Class A Tube Amp Uh Huh....
How many monthly kilowatt hours, including hi-fi, do you use? Using electricity isn't a sin.
my own experience with Tekton Design Moab is one of those speakers that just works. A friend brought his over last week and it compares favorably to my Hornings that cost 8x more. It takes courage to post when all the press is negative. I commend you. Jerry
Sound Quality Don't make it too complicated, at least at first. Most music out there is CD quality and that should be your first goal.. but it isn't quite that simple. Playing CDs was simple but you were a slave to the DAC in the CD player, which was often po...
Solid state amp vs tube amps Yes. Anyway a big difference in sound...hard to use "quality" as a measurement of a subjective essence such as sound. Everyone has their opinion, as you see above. But the main difference is power. SET tube amps are generally 10 wpc or less ...
Surge protector How did you diagnose the power surge? you don't seen to be a tech guy (not criticizing).
Preamplifier sound Quality impact in home theatre bypass I consider HT a step or 2 below 2 channel and wouldn't worry about a pass thru on your preamp, all that should be in the signal path is some wire and a selector switch. Assuming you chose a preamp with good switches, it shouldn't affect HT. A b...
Can a poorly connected XLR connection cause a reduced(less loud) signal? yes. Like Erik said.
Decware Sarah 300B Amp? @ozzy62 I'd love to see a head to head with Aric and Decware. Steve is a master designer but I like what I see from Aric also. Aric has a huge advantage on delivery time so it is hard to do a comparison. Jerry
Decware Sarah 300B Amp? @danager There isn't much tube rolling to do on the SE84UFO (my current backup amp) and there won't be much to do on the Sarah either. Get a pair of EML 300B and be happy. Same with inputs, it is pretty easy to get a good pair and quit shopping....
Decware Sarah 300B Amp? I've had 3 decware amps and like them a lot. I'm 1.5 years on the list for a Decware 300B but think I'm still a year out. In the mean time I've steeped up about 2 levels from Decware with my current amp. I don't know if it will become availabl...
Best DAC’S $5k to $15k So I posted first that I have the Chord DAVE and it is excellent. I have recently bought the Lampizator GG3 and it is indeed an upgrade. I’d describe the difference as big, forward, and room-filling. It does push your budget. Jerry |
