The demise of "Fi Magazine" If you called them and cussed them out, it probably didn't help, IMHO.
Best Headphone regardless of price In what way?
List or discuss your favorite music I just listened to the CD today, and it sure is great. I've not seen it on vinyl, sorry. Do you have the Classic Records LP's from Sarah? Kinda "oversmooth" but very good nonetheless. I wish she would leave her husband, and marry me, heh heh heh.
Best Headphone regardless of price There's a new Stax Omega 2, called "007", $7k with amp, I believe. Since money is no object, you could buy me one as well, "Kl". I have no shame when it comes to audio charity...well, I have some, but I'd deal with it, that's for sure!
Good choices for first time DIY speaker? If you want to design and build your own, the best route is to have a terrific designer computer-model/test the crossover for you. It's not cheap, but I'm hoping it will be worth it.
Magnepan MMG's with Rega Mira?? Far better to just audition the MMG's yourself first, and then read those 100 reviews. You don't have a thing to lose, doing that.
Best system for opera lover at $30,000 The sound in the pit is vastly different from the sound the audience gets, or the sound of most recordings. It's good that you let your wife approve your system though, at least if she's going to be listening to it as much as you are. It's only fair.
Best of the small speakers Meadowlark Kestrals if the room is smaller than 12 x 15. Paragon Acoustics Radiants, or Meadowlark Shearwaters if it's bigger than that. BUT, WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, you need to have proper room treatments, or you'll never have smooth in-room respon...
Good choices for first time DIY speaker? Yes, North Creek is very good too.
Opinions Needed!! Oh yeah, the guy said he had them nearly finished, and that they sounded great, but that he wasn't in the big room yet, and didn't need the bass yet.
Magnepan MMG's with Rega Mira?? Quite a bit more, especially if you don't want to hear the awful strain that goes along with an underpowered amp, with orchestral crescendos, etc. It just makes the sound very fatigueing. I've noticed with the MMG's, that they don't "come alive" w...
Can Home Theater be "High End"? Of course you can have a highend home theater, but highend two channel (for music) costs much less for the same quality, and the music software is more plentiful by a margin of 100,000 to one. I'd love to have a Runco/Stewart Filmscreen/Faroujda s...
Magnepan MMG's with Rega Mira?? I feel that it won't be enough power, unless you never listen to anything but small scale chamber type stuff, and your listening room is small. My MMG's can take the full output of my 500 watt/channel/4 ohms amplifier, and are satisfying with all ...
Honest Reviewers ? It just has to do with what becomes an accepted mode of discourse in the industry/hobby. That's always the test of the creativity of a reviewer: If he can come up with a new descriptive phrase, that might "catch on" and become understood by the re...
24/96 Upsampling Don, I'm in total agreement with you! |
