Usijng two different subwoofers
For stereo, definately no. You should not only have the same brand, but also the same model. For home theater it depends, if you have one in front, and the other at the back of your room it can work well.
Best setup for two subwoofers.
If you have one sub to fill in deep bass for front speakers and one for LFE it can be okey to run different brands. But if you want to run both subs for LFE they should be of same brand and ideally also exact same model.
With $20,000 in your hand, what speaker would you
I would have considered Burmester B30. They are tremendous speakers and would also save you some dollars.
Stick with Aerial 20T to play above 100Hz? Or MBL?
An update from me since I have now had my new line source speakers for two weeks. I must say they have redefined my perception of high end audio and music reproduction. From the first note I could easily hear that this was something truely special...
Puccini+Uclock vs APL NWO 4.0 SE vs PD MPS-5
I suggest you also listen to the new Wadia S7i or the new Burmester 089 or even better the Burmester 069 if your budget can allow it. I personally prefer these over dCS. I have not heard PD.
Toslink from TV to DAC???
I run toslink from my new Samsung LED TV into the DAC card in my Accuphase integrated amplifier. Works excellent.
New Rowland Criterion 2-chassis battery pre
Brazcole, you should be careful if you plan using different amps on your speakers top and bottom. I know it can be done successfully, but it certainly isnĀ“t easy.
is a center channel really necessary??
I have a 7.1 setup with 2 x Aerial 20Ts for left/right and Aeiral CC5 for center channel. For movies I definately prefer to use my center channel. It is very good, blends perfectly with my mains and makes dialogue more realistic.
OPPO BDP 83 or Marantz UD 8004
Go for the Theta Compli Blu. I have compared this unit to the Oppo BDP83 SE. Read it here: http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?bhome&1269006958&&&/Review:-Theta-Compli-Blu-vs-Oppo-BDP-83-
Review: Theta Compli Blu vs Oppo BDP-83 SE
You can consider the Compli Blu as an Oppo on stereoids. Here is a list of the enhancements Theta has done over the Oppo:1.Heavy 16 gauge steel chassis for rigidity.2.Positions of transport mechanism and display have been swapped. Lowering the mec...
Review: Theta Compli Blu vs Oppo BDP-83 SE
I have had the old Compli myself. I have never used video analog output from any of these players so cannot comment on that, but in all other areas both the Oppo SE and the new Compli Blu are much better. Now I want to try the new Ayre DX-5 !!
Stick with Aerial 20T to play above 100Hz? Or MBL?
Klatuu, the posistioning you mention is actually what I have in my system. I also considered Tidal speakers, but as there is no dealer for Tidal in Norway where I live I think that makes things a little complicated. I am quite sure the Adytons line...
Burmester 061 + 011 + 911 or 001 + 911
Option #2!
Stick with Aerial 20T to play above 100Hz? Or MBL?

Burmester 069
Roysen, this is an old thread. Things move on, so I can not comment on the latest Wadia separates. I am sorry, but have not heard them. I am sorry my earlier posting could be interpreted that way. My experiences, except from latest integrated play...
