Is there a solid fuse-like item that I can use in place of a fuse, to bypass it? @theaudiotweak, @auxinput Fuses do not affect the sound. If they did, do you think manufacturers of thousands of dollars' worth of equipment would not already put some 'audiophile' fuses in them to make their equipment sound better ? They do n...
Why don't upgrade the wires and components inside our units? Wires, unless they are corroded or burnt, do not get 'old' and do not need replacement. Semiconductors do not need changing unless burnt. Resistors are about the same. Leave them alone unless burnt. About the only thing worth changing are the ...
Is there a solid fuse-like item that I can use in place of a fuse, to bypass it? The only reason fuse manufacturers fill their fuses with sand is for safety so that the glass does not shatter with a sudden temperature rise. It has nothing to do with their worry about reducing resonance or improving audio quality.

Are Your Ears Good? Simple Test For Your Ears What i wouldnt give to be able to hear like the creatures in the movie "A Quiet Place" lol ..... Now maybe they can hear the difference a fuse makes :)
Improving Comcast modem signal @chungjh Where are you located ?
Are Your Ears Good? Simple Test For Your Ears Hearing also depends on ear geometry a lot too. When i face the source and push the flaps of my ears forward such that they are perpendicular to my head, I think i gain about 3-4dbs of treble gain. Furtermore, if i cup my entire hand behind m...
Improving Comcast modem signal I am not sure where you are located, but where i live in Silicon Valley, Comcast service is excellent. On average, it went offline only for about 4 hours in one year. And since i converted to their business service about two years ago, it never...
Is there a solid fuse-like item that I can use in place of a fuse, to bypass it? Why do you want to do that ? Do you want to give your insurance company an excuse not to pay you if your equipment starts a fire, albeit a small chance ? Besides, contrary to almost everyone who think they can hear better than a dog and believe ...
Improving Comcast modem signal @classdstreamer I understand where you are coming from. Regardless, in most enterprise level (and hi end) home routers and switches, CPU speed does not matter that much. CPU maintains the ’control plane’ and programs the specialized switching ha...
Improving Comcast modem signal @chungjh That may actually be your best option.
Improving Comcast modem signal @classdstreamer It is extremely unlikely that a PC, even one of the fastest ones, will ever outperform a well designed modem/router. Those devices employ special purpose hardware which utilize TCAM lookups at hardware speeds and encrypt/decrypt...
Improving Comcast modem signal @steakster is right. I misread and answered your question thinking you had an issue with your home router. For a cable modem, it has to be compatible with Comcast and that its mac address must be registered with them. I had done the same thing w...
48kHz vs 96kHz: audible? @tomcy6 is correct. The reason oversampling gives the impression that it may sound better is not due to the oversampling process itself but due to the fact that at higher sample rates, filter artifacts are pushed to higher frequencies which y...
Audio nonsense @perkri STILL missing the point ...... Anyway..... Happy delusions to all who believe :) |
