Tone controls -- assuming you're ok with them, when would you try them? My next amp won't have volume control, either. If I want the music louder, I'll just move closer. In all seriousness, my integrated amp has all that old-school stuff. Bass, treble, balance, loudness. Most of the time, it isn't used, and is in fact...
How many people here generally buy used? Some of each. Used comes into play when I couldn't afford to buy new.

have you ever bought stereo without listening first I was able to listen to my first pair of good speakers before I bought them. Almost everything else, the opposite was true. The integrated amp was the biggest leap for me, probably due in part to it being a big leap money-wise as well. No regrets.
Chinese fake cables How fake, how good? Yes, contrary to one of the posts above. If a company builds a crappy product and sells it for a high price with ridiculous claims, that’s one level, and should eventually sort itself out in the free market. If an overseas company builds an out an...
Unreal prices I had a lot of fun doing it, and learned some things. I assumed you had a bit of knowledge on the subject when you mentioned the 'current limiting device'. You have a great receiver, but I'm biased towards the x50 series. All the best.
Unreal prices junkman, I actually recapped my SX-750 with online help. Took forever, due to the process, but turned out great. All with the help of a few amazing folks in the Pioneer subforum at AudioKarma.
Unreal prices SX-1980, Pioneer’s most powerful receiver ever. The SX-1250 is considered my many to be the better model. It might also be good to remember that the prices on these when new were not cheap. The SX-1980 in 1978 sold for $1295. The SX-1250 in 1976 w...
How to remove ground pin on power cable Plug it in and unplug it about a thousand times, this has worked without exception on every Skilsaw and extension cord I've ever owned. (couldn't resist any longer)
Accuphase amps t_ramey, look hard at the Luxman offerings, they're pretty highly regarded, and a bit more affordable than Accuphase. The L-509X is there TOTL class AB integrated, and the L-590AXMkII likewise in Class A. I own the L-590AX, which was the prior v...
Can a turntable be stored in a garage? I wouldn't store anything like that in an unheated space.
How to remove ground pin on power cable Jim, once again, thanks for taking the time. Haven't watched that video yet, but it's cued up. L. |
