Ayre P-5xe... I use an Ayre K1xe preamp with the phono section built in. I am running a Superscoutmaster balanced into the preamp and the result is a quieter presentation, bigger soundstage, cleaner, clearer, more dynamic, etc.
Is the Ginko Cloud 11 the best isolation for a VPI I answered this before, but for those that didn't read my previous post... The new VPI feet has the Gingko balls included. When I contacted Gingko, they told me that the new VPI feet were quite enough.
Reference level playback Sorry Bob - I think this is silly. I am a professional musician, and each time I play a piece the dynamics change..it souldn't be the same. The reason for a powerful amp is the same as for a powerful car engine. They both can go 60 MPH, but the V-...
Mft 's suggested VTF: Follow or not to follow??? Here's something to ponder. Your old records were recorded/mastered on older tube gear with rolled off highs. The modern record has frequencies very much higher. Could it be that your left tweeter is exhibiting erratic behavior at those higher sou...
Is the Ginko Cloud 11 the best isolation for a VPI I have a Superscoutmaster with the new heavy platter, and the new feet. Gingko told me that the balls are a part of the new feet and that no additional platform would be needed.
I can't find the answer, JMW 9 tone arm cartridge Your question is best served by VPI. Also, be aware, that low output carts may theoretically sound better than the higher output models because of a smaller coil, however, your preamp MUST be able to handle the lower output. Check with the cartrid...
VPI mechanical anti-skate devise VPI says that its not important. I don't use it at all with very favorable results. Its up to you.
VPI new Super Feet for Scout/Scoutmaster/Aries I asked the question of Gingko, who said that the new feet incorporates the balls of Gingko, and its like using their unit.
is VPI's new "Super Platter" a worthwhile upgrade? Ijust got my new VPI with the new feet and new platter. I haven't set it up yet, and can't compare it to anything since I don't know what the original sounds like, but it sure is beautiful
Tonearm wire, SILVER vs SILVER, all the same? It seems that silver wire has a sound of its own...not necessarily bright, or dull, but kind of smoothe, or delicate. I'm not sure that silver is better..just a little (very little) different.
Virtual Dynamics original Master Series I have an Ayre C5XE, a V1xe, a K1xe, VPI Superscoutmaster with a Benz Ebony, and Vandersteen 5A speakers. The more I got Cardas out of my system the better it sounded. The best cables I've tried are either the Audioquest top of the line silvers (V...
Review: Empire EDR.9 Moving Magnet Cartridge I hear tell that Empire morphed into our contemporary Benz Micro... same company ... a wonerful cartridge too.
AHs anyone heard the new Ayre MX-R mono blocs? ...odd - I have 5A's hooked up to Ayre K1xe, and V1xe, and didn't hear any difference with the monoblox. ...odd
Amplifier for Vandersteen 5A' s ? I'm using an Ayre V1xe with terrific results. I understand the monoblox are also good.. |
