Total streaming noob question
If your MBP is newer and turns out not to have spdif output - something inexpensive like this can get you up and running into your Emotiva via MBP and iTunes . https://www.amazon.com/LiNKFOR-Coaxial-Headphone-Converter-Optical/dp/B07SR7BYD6/ref=sr...
Total streaming noob question
iPads don't have optical output. Not all MacBook Pros have optical output or support it.  This has been a bit of an issue with Mac over the years.  Sounds like yours does not have it or the support for it has stopped.
Total streaming noob question
With iTunes playing something, pull the optical cable from the Emotiva.  Do you see red light streaming from the end of the fiber?
Vibration Source?
I just played Goodbye by Steve Earle. Listening to the bass, from my right speaker I’m hearing a odd harmonic distortion from the repeated plucked 1/4 notes.  Like a fuzzy articulation to the notes instead of a clean attack and decay. Seems like t...
Vibration Source?
That is a nice system with good resolution.Could very well be anomalies in the recordings. If you do get a small sample list together with time stamps some can check their own copies and see if it exists on the recording.  I've had a few GRP and Co...
Discussion of Class D Amps Application & Experiences
For thirty plus years I have been a class A or A/B user.  Have used tubes and SS in various system iterations along the way.  I was curious about class D amps and wanted to reduce the extreme space heater for summer listening so after my normal re...
Looking for a SS integrated amp... approx. $1200 range
Just tossing this in for consideration.  I had one a while back, simple and well built.  Since you're not looking for bells & whistles but rather straight audio performance I'd at least research this and see if it tics the boxes for you.  Well...

Weird problem noticed today...
Agree with mofi's suggestion of doing a hard reboot.  Two updates back I had some audio anamolies as well as Spotify disappearing from the main menu.  If the reboot doesn't work you can do a fectory reset but know that it wipes out all data stored...
Line fault at the outlet -- do I need an electrician?
Indeed a quick answer to the question of polarity is the three prong outlet tester.  https://target.scene7.com/is/image/Target/GUEST_f8afe67f-c81b-4adb-bf20-4492211bf748?wid=488&hei...
Line fault at the outlet -- do I need an electrician?
hilde45,  that is a possibility if the feed going to the line side of the first outlet is reversed and the daisy chained outlet is wired in parallel off the load side of the first outlet in correct polarity. https://solitum.net/content/images/2015...
Line fault at the outlet -- do I need an electrician?
If you’re ok with pulling the outlet cover off and shining a flashlight in on both sides you may be able to see the hot (black) and neutral (white) wire going to the side screws, or if it is a back-stab connection you may be able to see which side...
